I remember in the early days of Israel when my parents told me about the Stern gang and Irgun, both terrorist organisations. I grew up not really a supporter of the Israelis. Everyone seemed to be a supporter of terrorism and a lot aimed at the British. Time moved on and I saw the 1967 6 day war. This was a concerted effort to destroy Israel, and I was pleased when Israel kicked the arses of the countries attacking them. I’m not in favour of anyone who attacks another for political or religious reasons. I’m not sure if I will ever see some normality in the region, because I haven’t throughout my whole life…..

I think its much more likely that Russian interference, if there was any, came about by boosting the likes of Netanyahu and the people to the right of him than by involvement in the attacks of October 7th. They are after all the same sort of person - rightwing, "disruptive" norm-breaking, nationalist/fascist, utterly incompetent when a crisis comes along - that they have backed here, in the US and across Europe.

Wouldn't be a surprise but they are deffo firmly in bed with Iran. Playing both sides would be one of sowing discord, I suppose.
