Aye, but they are being held captive on both sides. Since the Fatah–Hamas conflict of 2006, Hamas took power and stopped elections since then. So Palestinians in Gaza live under a terrorist mob gripping the region and Israeli blockade keeping them in. Its abloody awful situation.

It is, it’s terrible. The only way to sort it is to put the guns down and get everyone around the table with the UN taking the lead. Hopefully for all sides sake there is still an opportunity.

A lot of high profile people in the Jewish community have.

I get it, it's a highly emotional subject for them, but there seems to be an unwillingness to acknowledge the problems in that part of the world are down to the actions of Israel over the last 70 years, for the most part.

Anti-Semitism is not critique of Israel. I imagine there are a lot of jews who's voice isnt being heard in the mainstream because we want to shape a certain narrative in the west.

Hamas must be destroyed = Gaza must be destroyed imo.

The lack of self awareness and history from the Israeli state is jaw dropping. You cannot cause a people to cease to exist. Sooner or later the international community has to pull the plug and step in, although I dont have much hope at the moment.

I'm just waiting for them to justify the killing of children as "preventing future terrorists from being recruited".

….so sad to hear a 12yo autistic girl and her grandmother taken hostage by Hamas have been found dead. I fear for the fate of the Israeli hostages, it’s good to see Western leaders taking the stance they are in their reasoned backing of Israel, whilst diplomatically trying to get aid into Gaza.

Terrible for everyone but, reasoned backing of Israel? If they had had the balls to condemn Israel over the last 50 years this may not have happened.
