More precisely, killing civilians is counterproductive. It breeds more terrorists. The article on CNN I linked written by a congressman who served in Iraq explicitly comments on the problem.

He acknowledges the reality of the situation, which is that the terrorists are ruthless enough to use civilians as human shields. If you want to beat them with force, you have to kill more of them than you recruit by killing civilians. The standard estimate is that killing one civilian yields ten new terrorists. If you aren't bagging terrorists faster than you're inflicting collateral damage, you're not just committing war crimes. You're losing.

One broad problem with the implementation of the War on Terror was that the West prioritized killing high-value targets, and forgot about the fact that if you breed new terrorists fast enough, you're likely to be staring at more competent colonels and generals than the present ones down the road.

You are badly misunderstanding Zelenskyy's situation. It is not good. He is entirely dependent upon outside assistance to prevent capitulation and subjugation. That assistance is under threat, due to American domestic politics. If replacing that assistance requires dealing with a pariah state, so be it.

You have the luxury of not having faced an invasion of Britain in your lifetime. If you were facing one, you would tell the Prime Minister to cut that deal.

It is just the usual nonsense.

Why single him our when all global leaders, mad mullahs aside, showed support and empathy to Israel in the aftermath of the attack. Add to that the fact the focus of fruit heads ire is Jewish and you get the bitter flavour of the post.

Means nothing really when those that investigate and punish war crimes are largely fully behind what Israel is doing here. Very sad to see.

This whole conflict is affecting me really badly seeing the images and videos - something that's actually not happened to me before.

It doesn't impact my life personally yet I am livid and almost shaking with anger with every sad update that comes in.

My main problem in life and what's been keeping me up at night recently has been getting recently made redundant and struggling to find a job. Not even a fraction of a percent of what these innocent people are going through in this massacre and I'm fully aware of how lucky I am.
