It’s interesting that the west haven’t tried to pin this on Iran as of yet, given that generally anything bad that happens in that region gets blamed on Iran. Makes me think it’s one of two things, 1. Somehow Hamas worked out who the Mossad spies are, and deliberately fed them bad info, or 2. They absolutely do not want to drag Iran into this conflict.

Been listening to a lot of coverage too, and apparently Israel’s equivalent of the FBI had apparently been warning the government for a while to stop aggressively settling the West Bank or something like this would happen, and we’re told to shut up which is insane on a lot of levels.

1 being, that I imagine Israel’s FBI are probably not exactly liberal, and if they even think their actions in the West Bank are too egregious then they were obviously unimaginably horrific.

2 being, how insanely right wing must their government be to just ignore such a stark warning from one of their intelligence services?

I am not a fan of that particular site, and that article is a good example of why - I mean, yes obviously external actors are going to use this conflict to further their own aims but nowhere does it even mention that dealing with the blatant injustice of the occupation is an option.

Its either go to the mattresses to protect the Israeli government irrespective of what its actually doing, or be wiped out on a civilizational level.
