Is that kiss goodbye to Moyes then? Who would you want if so?

Hoping Moyes doesn't sign a new contract is the stuff of lunacy.

If you think it will force the Board's hand to act you are sadly mistaken.

OK, their inadequacies will be exposed for the whole non-Everton football world to see..

...in the Championship.

What else should we be doing? You putting money into the club to buy a few world class players? If not what is wrong with not having much money at the moment. I'd rather be Everton and broke than QPR spending a fortune on players and wages only to be relegated and Arry having put another club into administration. Whats going on at QPR is wreckless, whats going on at Everton is good business sense.

I agree with this, but where do the next generation of supporters turn to for Exciting Times?

I'd rather have something to get excited about. Excitement at Everton is like Bingo Day at a Nursing Home.

If you mean plan B in terms of playing targets, that is surely Moyes' responsibility?

The EFC Board has zillions of faults and are a total waste of space, but plan B playing targets are not their responsibility.

I thought how it works was Moyes hands over the targets and it's upto the board to sign the players. It's a very big gamble if its Moyes decision that we don't need anybody. Gibson has missed more games than started and we have been playing 36yr old Neville there.

There are rich men behind Kenwright, like really rich men. There would have been absolutely NO RISK in them giving us the extra money to try and seal a few deals. They would have been GUARANTEED their money back.

Who knows. This window was an opportunity missed though, were in fifth and needed someone to give us some impetus like Pienaar, Gibson and Jelavic done last year. The prize potentially is top four and better times.

Instead we signed a player for the future, when we needed one for now. We need massive change but it doesn't look like coming at any time soon.

Noone is guaranteed their money back in football.

You speak far too much sense for this thread, my friend.

Maybe:

1) Moyes is using his contract situation to make sure that he gets serious money to spend, like he did the last time it was due for renewal and we signed Fellaini?
2) The interest in Fer/Negredo was genuine and would have come from an advance on the £14m tv rights money due in the summer.
3) There was very little value to be had this window so, rather than spending money just to appease the fans on someone who would be over-priced and not really what we want, we decided to save it for the summer.
4) Fellaini appreciates that time is on his side and doesn't want to leave Everton too early.
5) We're not currently under financial pressure to sell players.
6) Mirallas and Gibson staying fit will be a big boost.
7) Jelavic can rediscover his form.
8) Signings don't always work out or improve a team.
9) We're as good as Arsenal and Spurs already.

Surely a couple of loan moves wouldn´t have bankrupted us? I´m afraid we will have to rely on luck to keep all our key players injury free till the end of the season. Stones looks promising, but we also needed more depth in the squad. :(

[Poor language removed] IT! WHAT'S OUR NAME!

We wont end up in the championship if moyes leaves, stop it with the scaremongering.

It's highly possible. Not immediately, but in 2-3 years after he goes and all our good players have left.

Nearly happened before. Twice. Third time unlucky.

And that's not scaremogering, it's being realistic.

no.

Your presuming -
all our better players will leave if moyes leaves,
we wont be able to replace them,
the next manager will be awful (little reminder moyes has won nothing),
none of our young players will turn out to be any good,
Bill's 24/7 search wont finally find a buyer (you may be right on this one).

People are over valuing moyes, he is not the difference between premier league top half and relegation.
