Is that kiss goodbye to Moyes then? Who would you want if so?

He's not going anywhere. He has the safest job in world football.

He'll take an increased contract, safe in the knowledge that he'll be employed for the full duration of it.

Not only that, where is he going to go? Bear in mind we're currently the 5th best club officially in the Premier League this season, then there's very few "bigger" clubs he can go to.

And abroad? I honestly don't think Moyes is stupid enough to go abroad. He doesn't know the languages and he'd be setting himself up to fail badly if he got the decision wrong.

He'll be at Everton for the next five years. And I'm not even a big fan of his, so there's no "bias" from me in saying it.

I agree with everything you say. But the thing is everyone will expect him to go I feel. He knows he could have a easy life here and I felt the reason he has left it was to see if we backed him in the transfer market. I don't think he will sign to be honest.

doom and gloooooooom

what the hell?

We had an 8m player break down because of a medical and an expensive striker break down because of time/Seville. We haven't sold our best players...so what is the issue? January market is generally slow, and managers say they dont really like doing business then.

Did we have 8m in the first place, if so what happen to the back up plan Elstone was spouting on sky yesterday ?

what kind of crap is being spouted here,5th in the league,a team playing it's best football in years,a new signing,5th round of the cup, club is buzzing and still we try to pull out the doom and gloom, get a grip lads,we could be fans of Villa etc,Moyes is going nowhere while this team is challenging.coyb's

Exactly the reasons why we needed to try to push on and give 4th a go

Precisely. At the end of the day, money talks. And yeah he might be able to get payed abit more at Chelsea or something, but he will probably get sacked. At the moment he is one of the highest payed managers in the league, and he knows he will never get sacked.

Do you think he wouldn't take the Chelsea job if he was offered then ? It's one thing guardiola doing it but I'd be staggered if moyes wouldn't be getting hit on the arse by the door on his way out in double quick time . I'm pretty confident he wanted the spurs job and why wouldn't he , but the same as I'd imagine with Chelsea next summer they didn't want him.

I think moyes fancies the idea of maybe trying overseas but when it comes to walking away from these wages will he go ? If he gets offered a big club & big wages I think he'll go but will that happen ?

For that reason I think he'll stay although I did also hear a journo say a while ago that he thought he'd also stay as with his personality he'd be terrified of someone matching him with his squad after he'd gone .

His kids are at college and school in Woolshire. If he leaves I can't see him moving out of the area so it'd either be for a commutable job or he'd leave his family behind until the eldest's finished 6th form and the youngest is due to move up. Can't see him leaving just yet tbh.

I'm still hopeful we will have sneaked someone in under the radar that we will hear about tomorrow, otherwise Moyes will be booking his flights to Germany I think.

David Moyes is a student of the game.

He'll be off, and I wish him all the very best to further his knowledge, and to reach the top with a Chairman who has a Pot and Pisses in it regularly.
