Is our squad rotten?

I think the answer is no. If you look at the squad individually there are some very good players there. Even those who are currently playing poorly are not bad players per se? klaassen has been hugely underwhelming, but even in a weak Dutch league, there must have been something about him for him to have been made captain? Similarly with Sandro, Barca didnt seel him, he left, went to a crap side in the most dominated league in world football and scored a bagful of goals. pickford, Keane, Jags, Baines, Gueye, Siggurddso, none of these are awful players? The issue seesm to be some are taking theor time fitting into the team, an issue made much worse by the highly erratic tactics being employed by Koeman.

There are a lot of individually talented players in our squad - no doubt about it. Most of them are Koeman signings and it is therefore Koeman's task to turn these talented individuals into a successful team/squad. He isn't doing it.

Why? is the $64,000 question. The failure to buy a top quality replacement for Lukaku is only a partial excuse. Koeman has to set the players we do have into a cohesive, united squad, with each player knowing his role and what to expect from the other players around him. That, very evidently, isn't happening.

I think there is something radically wrong with the mentality behind the scenes as there seems to be no belief on the pitch at kick off - and when we go a goal down we show an abject lack of character and invariably go from bad to worse. This needs fixing, and soon.
