Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

….thought you didn’t like ‘hoofball’, I notice Bournemouth played more long ball football than Everton in the season just gone ;)
They play football lightning fast - please talk us through DMs kick off the up & under? (% of this forum want him to stay I respect your total blindness Eggs .... everyone on this forum has a opinion though I respect that & your views & excuses etc ;)

Saw a stat about him before...

37% win rate at Bournemouth. Only playing one game a year and he is now favourite for the RS...3 games a week and increased pressure.

A manager like that coming to Everton would actually be a step up in pressure. He won't have the European adventure next year but he would certainly have increased pressure managing us.
He has achieved blistering football with cheap unknown signing oh & they are in Europe ...

I think it's evident he is going to Liverpool. I think he is possibly an excellent coach, already a very good one. In a vacuum if we had a shot at him we would be wise to push for it. But in a world where he and Glasner would consider us, I think I favor the latter.

I just think Palace's recruitment model is poorer than Bournemouth's. Liverpool's backroom is analogous to Bournemouth's to a degree. I would say ours or lack there of is a little more comparable to Palace's. And with that in mind I think I trust Glasner handling recruitment a little more or just elevating whatever we have.

He made just massive improvements not just with young prospects but kind of seasoned vets. Will Hughes was a fringe EPL player, who now has noteworthy qualities. Munoz has become one of the best fullbacks in the league in his mid late twenties. The story for Mateta not that different. And of course on the prospect end there is the emergence of Wharton, Richards etc.

What is really bothering me though is that this is likely just a hypothetical where for Liverpool it's not. Slot won a league 12 months ago and they are calling time, because they see an opportunity in the market. There is literally zero reason we cannot be operating with the same amount of forthright. And that is a sign of embedded mediocrity or acceptance.

With the noise of the fanbase, and stagnation I would say its at least a 70% chance Moyes doesn't survive the season. A reality that likely lends to worse options at manager. There is limited jobs in the EPL available. We have a summer to embed a new manager and correlate with recruitment. Like Liverpool has done, I dont know how you look at those variables and probabilities and not come to the same conclusion they have.

Probably, but it doesn't take a genius to know that the manager pool for a club of our stature currently has massive disadvantages in hiring someone then than now. Let alone the hurdles for the players in adjusting tactically while trying to fetch points. Kinnear and TFG can pretend otherwise and say we will greet that possibility then, but thats just avoiding the elephant in the room.

As it stands the likelihood Moyes finishes next season as gaffer I'd argue is very low. And even if its 50/50 I'd argue its wiser to make a change now.

Yeah but that's the issue matty. Look at the managers we've brought in midseason because we sacked an underperforming manager. Dyche, FSA, Lampard, Moyes etc. Managers worth their salt aren't usually available in the middle of a season because they are at a club already.
