Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

Do Bournemouth have a similar transfer set up as Brentford and Brighton? Wouldn't want a manager whose shortcomings were papered over by the club's strength in the transfer market given we certainly don't seem to be gifted in that department.

They are incredibly effective at procuring the needed players but they don't buy a lot of players for the future like Brighton at really low prices and then develop them. This year they sold their entire backline and replaced them mostly with players who are young but ready to start if needed.

I think they do. What we really need is to set up our own system like those!
We're partly screwed on what our owners paid.

The hipster clubs have four HUGE advantages:
  1. They cost their owners peanuts
  2. They're using modern moneyball software
  3. They can therefore spend more on wages ( comparatively ) via less on debt and huge signing on fees
  4. They now offer European football

Tony Bloom already repeating the trick with Hearts.

Whereas Moyes shells out millions on Grealish for 20 games and plays Keane. Top guy!

Yeah, people underestimate how big these changes are. They aren’t just little clubs having some short-lived luck in the market. There’s some deep analytics going on and it’s hard to replicate. Look at how hard it has been to copy the Medallion Fund.

No excuse to hang on to DM a pretty pathetic excuse get the older players off our books & save a fortune on wages for starters ..... plus a small fee as we have them on contract...
We need two overlapping fullbacks - DM knew this last June ....
