Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

No wonder a lot of Everton fans clamor for Moyes just like him they're risk averse and wary of the future , people will say we tried other managers and they were all disastrous! We made terrible selections overall for managers even with Carlo who is one of the best managers in the world but was never an ideal fit for us, because he wanted results immediately and didn't really build squads , so that played a role in our squad being incredibly expensive and over aged at Carlo left. Silva a decent pick was not properly backed recruitment wise, so if iraola does come here that would be essential. Fans need to stop living petrified as the only way to truly grow as a club is to shed the recent past and find a manager that can forge a new identity not cling on to safety first football

Personally think he is just another bog standard mid table PL manager. Think it’s telling that he hasn’t been snapped up by a club in a better position than us such as competing in European competition etc considering he is OOC.

If we go for him, I’ll be behind him, but he is another flavour of the month manager in my view.

I have a friend who is a bournemouth supporter and they're obviously scarce in the states so for solidarity purposes I've watched a lot of matches with him and I've been very impressed by Iraola, could he a flop? Sure but everything I've seen he has the skills and instincts to succeed on another level he's very adaptable , had his entire backline replaced this summer along with losing his best attacking player and was able put together solid results that have him on the cusp of sending bournemouth to Europe

No? As Martinez, had great 1st season went downhill from there. I said last season Slot got lucky, just because other teams were crap and Arsenal as usual bottled it. Managers can have 1 good season doesn't mean they're great, Laudrup won a trophy for Swansea, got sacked next season. While Moyes has his many many flaws you know what your getting with him. Moyes has awful traits, mainly his bottling it against bug sides and in big games. His constant managing expectations, however this constant changing managers has played a part why we got into this mess. At least under Moyes I'm certain he's making signings, we can't go back to Moshiri days, when players were being signed that managers didn't want.

There's a bit of truth to this, but it's not the whole point.

Just like with everything, on the one hand it's not people are "scared" of change, and it's not on the other than Moyes is the best manager in the world.

Like with everything, the answer is somewhere in the middle.

Most of us taking more of a pragmatic approach are simply saying, sure, I'd love to get an upgrade at manager - but who is that? There have been countless wrong turns this club has taken post-Moyes I, is now the time to step up to the roulette wheel on a still (relative) unknown that's had a couple good seasons coming off the back of 4 dumpster fire seasons, wrought with financial issues and relegation battles? Perhaps. Perhaps it is

Whether that's Iraola or someone else, first and foremost, it can't just be the club throwing money at the flashy new toy to solve all our problems. If the club properly vets the new manager, incorporating everything about running this club in particular, and it's a good fit, I'm all for it.

My fear is as we've seen time and again, we just splash cash at whatever exciting thing we think we need and when things go awry in December we're looking to sack him off the back of some bad form and now we're back at square one. It's a lot easier to make a change to drive us into Europe, sustainably, once the club is in a position of mid-table stability that decreases greatly the likelihood of another relegation battle.

That's all we're saying, for the most part. If Moyes realistic timeline for us is really only 3 or 4 years anyway, we can afford to take our time to make our next manager appointment a strategic one, and not just a knee-jerk one.

If everyone is sold Iraola is that man, then sure, let's do it

I feel like a big part of his success is the set up around him at the club. We don't have that so not sure he would have similar success here.
It’s not all about the set up, surely Moyes would have won the title at Utd and not finished 7th. TFG want to buy younger and players and build something, I’d rather give Iraola 5 yrs than Moyes
