Is Kenwright that bad?

I remember the days when owners who tried to run clubs as a business were scorned upon!
Back in the day, people owned clubs because they loved football. At least, that is how it came across.

In this respect, BK is closer to the old style of ownership, subjectively. Howver, it is not gearing us for progression unless he finds the multi-millionaire new owner.

i`m an evertonian me, for me- its everton all the way. so dont forget it and just in case - i`ll remind you next time we have a chat

I suppose its about context really, i really can understand why many of his ciritics are furstrated, in some way justifibly so, there are many issues other havnt even picked up on i would criticse Bill for in the past and presently. That said i beleive hes an honest guy and does and will do his best for Everton.

I dont think hes as naieve as many make out and all in all we would have been in the past and prob now in a massive mes without him - for those with more systemic memerios.

I think its worth noting, that its prob one of the first occasions in our history we are operating without being drip fed by an owner a model that is becoming increaseingly unviable, while we are certainly living withn in our means albeit at a minor loss, - if it requires the backing of a oil porduceing soverign state to cvrack the top four these days.

If he can pull of the stadium thing and if BU transcript wasnt a massive misrepresnetation andi have my doubts, its great there could be options at Edge Lane, and a few other sites - at least its not of the agenda - it was also welcome to hear him say staying at Goodison is costing us a fortune.

He's alright but lacks the means to take us to the next level.

One thing I think he and Moyes have done really well over the last few years is secure our better players on long term deals. With a worse chairman, Cahill and Arteta for example would have left years ago...

not an evil man, just not the man for the job, time has overtaken his type of chairman. The club really even before him hasnt had the type of man or woman in charge to really have a go at taking us to the next level, its allways a bit of glory than back to plodding along agian, never right we have won something lets build it even better and carry on.We need a modern day moores ,not just the money side but someone with a bit of a vision and a goal he wants to reach and the means to do it.

Hes absolutley mad not to way, imagine how straight forward his life could be without the role at the club, its one manure storm after another and fans are never happy. even if he was a more silent board memeber, for all the positives and negatives he has brought and brings, you have to say at least he stood up.

It amazes me that a lot of people beleive, there are many other alternatives if im honest, there really is no debate here when you think about it, he wants out, the fans know we need something else to progress, the manager knows the teams knows it, everyone is compleate agreement - i dont see the need to protray him as a mass villian when hes clearly not.

Take a deep breath, negativity only leads to problems overall, If some fans keep digging and digging what do they expect to happen? Bill has done nothing but good for this club and ok his plans haven't gone the way we all expected BUT we still have a great manager, top class players and a great youth set up, we all want the big money city found but not at the expence of what we have now, A good start to the season with the squad in tack will put a smile on peoples faces so chin up everyone and get behind the boys, COYB

What do City have to do with KD?
Any evidence to back your Fortress fund theories up?
Kirkby Failure? He and the board gave the support the vote, the only club ever to do so. What failure?
£45 million in debt, what % of that debt was bought from Peter Johnson?
'Arse Backwards', he was certainly unlucky to get lumbered with some of the clubs support he has.
You believe the FSF story then? you're a rare beast if you do.

It's been a pretty depressing read on this forum over the summer months, but today I'm suddenly really optimistic. I read about progress being made with Fellaini's new deal, that Jags won't be moving unless the club decide they want that to happen, we have a home game against QPR in a few hours time. Football is back. Let's enjoy it!

I like Kenwright, I just wish he had billions.
I also think Moyes has done a better job than he ever expected. Coming from a lower league team straight into a prem side can never be easy. Moyes with what hes had has been outstanding, I reckon the board would be happy at mid table finishing season in and season out so they can just sit there and carry on with their little boys club they have going. It causes problems when we do better than expected. When we get into Europe the board must be in crisis because they dont/cant make the squad stronger. They dont want to make the side stronger. They have got away with it for many years as well because us as fans have never expected to make Europe or get into the top 4. Now we do expect it though and thats whats changed.
So the previous investment 'deals' that have 'happened' could just be told to jog on because they didnt really want it because the gang were doing ok! "Lets divvie out the Sky money chaps then go for champers at my new show"

Moyes is also on a cracking wage and until a much bigger club, like Man utd, Chelsea, City, Arsenal and maybe Spurs but with his limited Europe experience.

I actually believe and this is just personal opinion, that offers were made for EFC by Billionaires in the past, maybe when Villa, City, Liverpool were maybe being bought but the board had no reason to sell, now with the economy in the state its in and the bank being tighter than a nuns chuff it really has back fired on them all. Nobody is interested at the moment in buying clubs, so the chances of us being sold are pretty much nil, and the prices that were offered when Bill said no are probably half of what they were so Bill is in a right state. If that interview recently was true he struck me as a bit 'stressed' and defensive.

Its not fun owning a prem football club anymore, but theres bugger all he can do about it without losing everything and if he does have his house hocked up and 11m invested he could get nothing back now if he sold, nothing.
However if we carry on like this then the bank will pull the plug anyway...Seriously, he must be in a terrible state, I would be.

Exactly my viewpoint mate.

I think he's guilty of being a shameless optimistic who's heart has ruled a lot of decisions where we've needed a businessman with a cool head. Kings Dock was the glaring miss the boat opportunity of our lifetimes, although I know there was a backdrop to it with Gregg who I'm delighted never got control of our club. The Kirkby thing split the fans down the middle and we still haven't recovered from it.

We need to push on quickly or face a return to the Walter Smith days when Moyes eventually walks.

He's a good blue. I thank him for going all in to rescue us from Johnson and wish him well, he'll make good profit when he sells the club so it will have been more than worth it. I want to see Everton be ace again and it won't happen under his ownership.

The worst thing to happen to Everton since 1878. And I'm not even close to kidding either.

Super stuff.
