Is it time to panic?

City have won titles with Delph and Zinchenko playing left back. We have a first choice back 4. Holgate is third choice centreback. I’d much rather get a very good centreback who can cover RB than spend big fees on a centreback and a back up right back both of whom won’t play if we stay injury free.

That’s money that could be put towards a striker who will play every game.
RB is a position that's in play to be claimed. Coleman is not the answer. We need another CB for sure. Our options there if Zouma isn't retained is shocking: Keane and Mina and Holgate. We cant be paying out for a much needed CB who, because of our weakness at RB, will be dragged out of the centre of defence.

The Bundesliga is about a level above the SPL in terms of quality and on a par with the Dutch league, those numbers you’ve posted don’t look impressive to anyone who’s done their research into the league.

Fair play. I'm not sure I'd agree, like. Bayern and Dortmund have regularly made the knockout stages of the Champions League. PSV and Ajax do not.

Four Champions League finalists in the last decade. The best young players in Europe seem to play there, Sancho, Weigl, Havertz, Brandt, Werner, Jovic - all of whom would have their pick of top clubs if they became available. And if they can wing players like Haller and Joelinton round Europe for £40m a piece, it can't be a bad league. Bar De Jong and De Ligt, I don't really see those sort of high-profile departures from the Eredivisie with such regularity.

That said, even if we were to concede that the Bundesliga is a sub-standard league, you can only beat who's in front of you and most would have to acknowledge that record is impressive.

Bayern the runaway leaders for the last god knows how many years, got absolutely snotted at home by Liverpool who aren’t even Premier League champions. Dortmund likewise got destroyed by Spurs. German teams haven’t been competitive in Europe for about 5 or 6 years, the more Bayern have dominated the weaker the league has become.

Hahahaha “wing round Europe”, one team was interested in each of them. And it’s really not a good example you’re using that Champions League standard German teams are offloading their star players to crisis-ridden relegation battlers like Newcastle and West Ham.

Mate Seb Haller is the best Striker in the world.

He was injured all season in DAS SPL and still managed over 50 goals, The Dutch, Portugese and Scottish league have all overtaken it, I rank it just above the Polish and Finnish these days.

What are your thoughts on La Liga as a league? Any good?

There have been more different teams won the Bundesliga than have won La Liga over the last 15 years.

What about Barcelona, as a team? Are they any good?

I mean they 'were snotted by Liverpool who aren't even Premier League champions"

Dortmund were beaten by Spurs, who the reached the final and who also beat City (the actual Premier League champions). Go figure!

Also, Hoffenheim and Frankfurt are not Champions League teams in the Bundesliga. Neither are in the Champions League this year. But I guess, that's consistent with the rest of your post.

What's your point?

Talk of 3-4 needed.. looking at the starting 11.. we need 1... 1 player.. a striker.
I’m happy with Bernard, Richy, Siggy, Gomes, Gana/Delph, Digne, Mina, Keane, Coleman and Pickford.

Yeah some back up is nice but for a starting slot it’s only striker that’s a burning platform. Any other signings should relegate any of those starters to the bench but will cost a fortune that could be going into a striker.

This is true but thats pretty much last years team, which means standing still while others strengthen, stand still in football and you go backwards.

As it stands our squad will get us 8th tops, and we might still sell Gana

Don’t disagree.. just looking practically.. Digne, Gomes, Bernard, Richy and Mina all bought 1 season... are they ready to relegate them? Especially the attackers? I actually think they deserve another year and expect big improvements. Mina yeah we know he will... but it would be farcical to loan another defender having spent close to £30m on Mina.. so requires another £25m plus outlay.

I would want another RB starter as good as Digne so for me that is 2nd most important starting weakness in the side. I don’t see Keane, Pickford going anywhere..

Really just process of elimination. Deffo not whole slaps changes.. we bought 5 players since last year incl Gomes, 6 incl Delph.
