Is it time to panic?

Meh, £36m on a no mark, worked out well for them last time they spent a club record fee on a player, remind me what did Almiron do last season?

Joelinton is a good player mate, I think you're wrong on this one. Newcastle will have a better natural striker *currently*

We have that now with Holgate, and its not the answer. We need specialists in every position. The utility player was the hallmark of the Moyes era. It may have been a necessity back then, but it shouldn't be now. We have a billionaire owner (apparently) and tv cash that simply wasn't there under Moyes.

City have won titles with Delph and Zinchenko playing left back. We have a first choice back 4. Holgate is third choice centreback. I’d much rather get a very good centreback who can cover RB than spend big fees on a centreback and a back up right back both of whom won’t play if we stay injury free.

That’s money that could be put towards a striker who will play every game.

Yet you were downplaying Bernard who created and scored more and cost a whole lot less

It’s one thing to look good in Das SPL, it’s another to do the same in the Premier League

You are correct, the German league is really poor.

I think it is actually similar to the Dutch league quality wise in recent seasons, at least defensively.
Attacking players and young forwards look like World beaters, similar to Holland.

Kramaric to De Bruyne is easily quite a bit worse.

I'd disagree, Kramaric played in the Champions League and a World Cup final literally last year. The jump to De Bruyne who is admittedly very good is not quite as big as a jump from Bernard to Iniesta, who is one of the greatest midfielders of all time. But hey, wouldn't it be naff if we all agreed on this stuff!

What's your thoughts on the French and Ukrainian leagues, mate?

I watched him a lot and, even though he didn't score or assist in his 10 games, he looked quality. Great touch, created space for the full back, worked really hard.

So Bernard is sh1te because he doesnt score or assist much but this lad is great even tho he doesnt score or assist just because it suits your argument?

This doesn’t mean a tap. Playing in the Champions League group stages is not a barometer of quality at all, neither is sitting on a bench for 3/4’s of a World Cup final where your teammates got bummed.
