Is anyone else worried

I think it will gel; it was pretty poor stuff for much of start of last season. (Easy to forget.)

But it's never good when issues are glaringly obvious even to fans, and then manifest themselves on the pitch every week. We are no better than last season in defence -- arguably worse given ageing and form -- and we've lost a brilliant striker.

Points towards months of toiling with ways to attack, drab performances, and no progress vs. last season. Then next summer we're back where we were this summer. Pretty frustrating.

One thing is clear though: anyone who thought that the squad changes we made in summer would improve us is looking badly wrong.

It was 3 goals worse if my maths is correct

Correct (I deserved that) but I was talking about losing a lead to 10 men and quite frankly spending the majority of the match after the sending off on the back foot. I personally found that more embarrassing than yesterday and that says a lot.

We were pretty abject the autumn of last year. We simply booted the ball to Lukaku to try to get some results and build some confidence.

That's not an option.

We have some no marks on Thursday then Lukaku will utterly reem us everywhere on Sunday.

We then have 5 very, very, very winnable games, all those 5 games must be won, lets see how it goes.

at the end of the day we have payed three of the best teams in the perm and come up short in two games. city batterd them yesterday and we got a draw out of them. get the next couple of games out of the way and things will start to turn and we'll be back to winning ways
I am also hoping that is the case.
The thing is though, is that it was against these teams that we were all primed and ready to go to to toe with.
As has been demonstrated though, we are still a good way off being able to do that.

We will finish 7th, not because we are good but simply because outside the top 6 the rest are crap
I am stating the obvious here, but we got to 7th position last year mainly due to someone who knew where the back of the net was.
Sadly, until possibly January, we haven't got anyone remotely like that, so whereas I admire your optimism, 7th is a pipedream.

Be amazed if Thursday is anything but a huge struggle. The lads from Slovakia and Croatia gave us a game, not a chance this will be any different.
