Samuel’s head looks like it is about to explode.
This sort of rhetoric from arch Brexiteer Rees-Mogg is dangerous. With NI as fractious as it has been for years due to Brexit, to undermine the principle of consent now could well cost lives.

Nail. Head. As usual Khal....One gets the impression they are trying to goad the Catholics now.
Despite knowing the Catholics want no part in “celebrating” the centenary of a state which from its outset confered second class citizenship on them, the NIO are pushing through measures which to me seem aimed at rubbing their noses in it.

NI 100: Northern Ireland centenary commemorations revealed
Plans to celebrate NI's centenary include a concert, a special post-mark and a church service.www.bbc.co.uk
They are going to send “centenary trees” to be planted in every school in NI.
That will go down well in the schools of Crissmaglen, East Tyrone and up the Falls Road.
Then they plan to have an Ecumenical service to include all faiths in Ni.
Given bith the SDLP and SF have declared they will not participate in these farcical ”celebrations“ of a century of discrimination, gerrymandering, pogrom, massacre and guerilla warfare one hopes the Catholic Church tell them to do one as well
Rees Mogg always has to stick his beak in. Maybe as a Catholic convert he feels the need to underline his loyalty to the Unionists. He sounds very insecure. One gets the impression they are trying to goad the Catholics now.

Exactly this.I have just went back and re-read the posts on page 1 of this thread. Very little has changed since then in regard to the subject at hand. All the crackpot solutions regarding a border in Ireland are now consigned to the bin, and the protocol is being threatened by the DUP, who have no workable solution/proposal at all. Johnson went to Fermanagh and was stated to be 'in listening mode'. This, obviously, is because he has no idea about his next move, having lied to the Northern Irish population about the Irish Sea border and the need for checks and paperwork. Right now, Johnson is introducing unilateral measures in Ireland which are incurring the wrath of the EU. It is obvious that the first post on this thread was entirely on the money, and that we will not have a full Brexit until everything is agreed regarding the north of Ireland.
We're never going to get a full Brexit, are we?
This post has nothing to do with Brexit but given that the artic walrus did cross the Irish border then I figured it could belong on this thread lol
