So Johnson has finally backed down on the border in the Irish Sea issue and his threat to break international law.

Undoubtedly this was in no small part due to pressure being applied by our Great Uncle Joe.

Mess with the GFA = no UK trade deal with the USA post Brexit now that the tyrant in the White House has been defeated.

Samuel 'I'm not covering my Tache with a Mask' is fuming so all must be good.

Thanks Joe. Sláinte. :pint2:

Another Tory bluff called...

I dont want to be controversial or step on anyone's toes, but it surely makes more sense now to unite Ireland and undo the unnatural century old partition of the country.
Whilst it’s seems kinda obvious to a lot of us over the sea, will meet some inevitable and possibly violent resistance I’d imagine. I dunno what the mood is like in NI. Think we have a few Northern Irish posters who wouldn’t be happy at all with this outcome.

Well IIRC there were polls in NI last summer that indicated a majority for it.

I suspect if Brexit is a huge disruption to people's lives most would want at least full economic integration and that would lay the basis for a political reunification.

Hmm I dunno. Roots run deep. Doubt it would change that many people’s minds. See the same in Scotland. The unionists will still oppose independence even if it means they’re been screwed over. Would also mean additional disruption.
Gotta think if things go bad here, they’re likely to do so in Ireland as well
