Wow.

When has the DUP ever given a toss about what the “nationalist community” supported?

It yelled “ULSTER SAYS NO” to every proposal which sought to bring equaity of citizenship for it.

Its founder led the mobs which forced the liberal Unionist regime of Captain Terrence O’Neill to abandon plans to reform society in NI in the 60s and introduce Civil Rights, which lead to thirty years of the Troubles.
Only way to read it Khal is that whatever proposal they have seen must be far too green for their liking and this is a last ditch effort to play the Orange card.

Without their parliamentary balance of power they are of no further use to the Tories as they surely must be coming to realise.

Yep. I cant understand why some are saying it looks like agreement.
I think it is being viewed as a breakthrough because the U.K. have indicated their willingness to accept a NI only solution with the fudged wording yet to be agreed.

Who in Westminster really cares if NI is treated differently if it means the rest of the U.K. can proceed on their way to Brexit?

The DUP are now a spent force in London and occupying a minority position in their own Province. They are dispensable.

The broader question for the UK scene is how that plays out in terms of any challenge between the BXT Party and the Tories.

Absolutely and the hope is that the BXT Party will split the Tory vote enough to allow a Labour led coalition to take the reigns.

It will be a delicious irony if right wing tubthumping paves the way for a Westminister government sympathetic to both Irish and Scottish independence referendums.

I'm not so sure, if Johnson manages to get even the heads of a deal to leave, even with a small delay to allow HOC to ratify, the brexit party will have very little ammunition to use against the Torries in a GE.

The BBC used to invite him onto QT...until they found he was too good at demolishing Tories...I bet the QT producer (VoteLeave / British Patriotic Front member) Alison Fuller Pedley swerved the invites for him.

Yes, I remember him on QT.....he was brilliant.

All those iconoclastic leftie polemicists have disappeared from QT now.

Will Self, Will Hutton, Billy Bragg and that fellow we are discussing never seem to be on now.

A by product of Cameron and his sidekick Clegg appointing various cronies to the BBC hierarchy.
