It wont go away though.
It won’t go away Roydo, the constitutional question is now front and centre in Ireland.

For those like me who will knock every door to persuade that our future lies here rather than government from London, Brexit has been a steroid.

Personally I think that sentiment has been misunderstood in this thread. We are Everton fans who love the city, we travel long distances to make a home game and it’s a bit daft to throw poking the English jabs at us.

You must have known his good mate, the sadly now deceased Patsy Slevin back in those days, Mark.

Knew him fairly well K, (RIP). I had many a pre and most match pint with him and others from ESCLA in the early nineties. He used to come over to Dublin for Ireland games such was his pride in his heritage.

I may well have had a beer with your good self as well back then. We may have discussed this before..... lol. :pint2:

It hasn't for the last 100 years mate. Not sure why this clown of a Prime Minister thinks he will succeed in Ireland where Attlee, Churchill, Wilson, etc have all failed.
He's threatened to implement direct rule from Westminster by the end of October if the Stormont Executive isn't back up and running by then.

That's the same Stormont Executive which can't be restored until this whole Brexit mess is sorted out because nobody knows where they stand until it is.

Implementing direct rule from Westminster is de facto tearing up the GFA as the powersharing government of NI is a central plank of that Agreement.

If anything proves that this feller has no substance and is just full of bull and bluster it is this.

He thinks that the Irish are just local colonials. Didn't he ask why Varadkar wasn't called Murphy, 'like the rest of them', when he was Foreign Secretary?

Mark, you and I must have crossed paths in those days.

There were a bunch of ESCLA boys.....McWillams and Slevin, wee Gary the musician, Paddy McGrath, Pat Conneely, Brian King, Larry from Belfast, Cockney John, Nick Brennan, John Collins.....ah, happy days :)

I knew Gary very well, a great Blues singer. Used to go and watch his band regularly and had a few jams with him. I went up to Goodison with him from London on occasion as well.

Results weren't great back then but we always drowned our sorrows afterwards. As you say, happy days. :)

Maybe because of his ethnicity, which has also been brought into question by a regular poster on here....
Mad it is. There is no aspect of this vote, admittedly in retrospect, that the Brexiteers were on the right side of. We did not not get the full story/picture beforehand and we now reap the results. To hear them bray is both hilarious and horrendous. Hilarious because they haven't the faintest idea what they have done/voted for, horrendous because we are all going to be subject to a Hatton style plank walk over this Brexit. Remember Degsy saying that there was never any intention to sack any teachers etc? Johnson will do exactly the same. It's sad and offensive in truth.......
