Welcome back Wayne
how's he wrong?
If there's no tariffs on goods heading south to north, what's to stop all these commodities being imported tariff free to the UK via the land border with the RoI?
What has been said is that goods flowing from ROI into NI will have no duties. So great, NI can get goods from the EU without duty and goods from the RoW with no or reduced duty. This is great for NI, if the goods stay in NI. The goods flowing into NI cannot then just be shipped across to the mainland because they have a country of origin, and goods not produced in NI will be subject to tariffs. The computer systems have all this logged. I’ve tried before to explain all this to you guys but you didn’t want to know. The U.K. will not put a hard border between NI and ROI, only the EU will do that......
