21 years ago almost to the day in Buenos Aires. Israeli embassy hit by a truck bomb. 23 dead and 242 injured mostly Argentinians.

Hezbollah / Iran did this. So yeah they have no position to start bleating about diplomatic immunity.
The article is from 2013. 32 years ago. Not an attack on an embassy I was aware of. Eye opener that. I'm surprised this aspect (bombing embassies) hasn't been followed up.

My bad - but yeah these things tend to get lost in the mists of time.
Then the 83 one, now I can see why there wasn't such a diplomatic ordeal kicked up with israel hitting the iranian embassy. An air of 'just desserts' possibly.
I fully expected the telegrammed mass drone attack (see firework show) by iran to be a smoke screen to a sucker punch somewhere else, either an embassy bomb or a couple of ships hit and sunk. israel now want the last word so will attack and claim more lives, and so eventually someone devious enough comes up with a means to take israeli lives somewhere and then netanyahu cries some more about persecution and how the world can let this* continue.

Can't see this ending anytime soon, any significant casualties on the israeli side means they'll shell defenceless masses in gaza and up the death count significantly under the lie of hunting terrorism. The world rolls it's eyes and another day of the same begins. Difficult times ahead and Ukraine needs help and help now.

Yeah it’s a real crap-fest. Middle East has never been any different though, everyone wants a piece of someone. If this current situation somehow miraculously dies down then something else will spark another kick-off in a couple of months/years time.

It will never end. Iran, Israel, Saudi, Turkey, Syria all have blood on their hands. Then there’s the outsiders. U.K. US, France constantly dabbling and messing stuff up.

Regarding the current crisis I for one don’t see that Iran can play the innocent victim here given their antics over the years. Israel on the other hand should have known better than to target their embassy when they could easily have picked off the IGRC top brass at any other given location and time. I just don’t see the logic behind the attack.

As for Irans response, I’d say it was planned to inflict maximum exposure and minimal damage to Israel so as not to provoke another escalation. It could yet still backfire on them - we shall have to see if Israel uses its noggin for once.

Dunno about you, but I thinking because of all this aggro the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza has largely been forgotten about in the MSM.

Oh and as a final addition to my rant - where were all these peace activists when Aleppo was being bombed into the Stone Age? Where was the public outcry against the Iranian backed militias who raped and killed tens of thousands in Syria?

That first paragraph is also what I think. They had to do something, but they also didn't want to induce airstrikes.

The Gazans are likely to remain where they are in MSM as slow news day fodder until they start dying of starvation or disease en masse. Horrid, really. MSM doesn't want to cross Israel until the clickbait becomes worth the aggro.

Much of the Middle East, including Syria, is like Africa and parts of the Far East. It's more or less assumed there's conflict somewhere, and so long as it behaves itself by staying regional the media doesn't much care.

Conflict in Europe or the Americas, on the other hand, is outside the norm and a potential disturbance to peace in the countries where mainstream media lives and works. That, they care about.

I agree with most of this.

Regarding Syria there were protest against the leadership in Syria, the Russians and the Iranians who were there fighting ISIS just like the west was when they were dropping bombs and missiles.

The two biggest threats to peace in the Middle East in my eyes are Iran and its proxies on one side, the other is Israel and its extremists settle government/movement.

Both driven by religious fundamentalist although more so in the Iranian government but the Israelis are just as bad.

What confuses me is why the Iranian government is demonised (rightly so) and the Israelis get away with it big style (They even get protection from western militaries) even though they get huge amounts in military aid.

They refuse to even contemplate a political settlement with the Palestinians as it means they will have to cede land. So we can blast the Iranians till kingdom come but until there is justice for the Palestinians there will never be peace.

As long as the Palestinians are getting massacred by the Israelis then the Iranians will have huge influence. Solve that crisis then perhaps the Iranian influence will dissipate.

Thing is no one in Israel or the west has an appetite to push for a two state solution hence the cycle of violence continues.

If the west really want a stable and secure Middle East they would put massive pressure on Israel to negotiate with the Palestinians in good faith. As they are the ones who are refusing to negotiate. Once the current war is over and BiBi and his cronies are bounced out the Palestinians need to be given their god given human rights…..that is not Israel’s gift to give.

At the moment there is no good leadership in Israel or Palestinians to make it happen and the west won’t/don’t want to upset the Israelis.

Why does the west not want to upset the Israelis?
Why does the UK USA France Germany etc still say they support Israel.
Why don't they castigate that regime as the apartheid state it is.
What has Israel got on the western leaders that make them such lapdogs.

For the most part Intel and technology. In the case of the US there’s also the Jewish voting lobby.

I’d say 75% of the source intel relating to Jihadi attacks in Europe is sourced from Israel. Without it there’d be a lot more attacks.

As for technology - Israel is a hub for R&D not just in the defence industry but also in the medical equipment communications and gaming industries. Lots of links there to foreign governments for general trade and commerce as well as political lobbying.

So, convenient and profitable to sup with the devil.🤫

Reports saying that Israel has killed a Hezbollah commander in Lebanon as a response to the missile and drone attack from Iran.

And planning a limited strike in Iran

Hezbollah leader us suitably distanced from Iran to not escalate matters. How limited a strike though?
