Or is this just the Media narrative to tell us that Iran are the bad guys again, like they did with Gadaffi and Saddam?

My Aunt lived in Libya in the 80's when the US bombed them. She loved it their, said Gadaffi was a hero to the people. Built his country, looked after his people. Gave them hospitals, homes, health care and schools etc.. Then he and Saddam decided it was time that the Arab nations took charge of their own oil and money (African gold Dinar) once and for all, and that's where it all went downhill from.. There was no way the US/UK were going to allow that. Hence the lies to get rid of them both.
I'm sure the USA itself wasn't factored into that evaluation.

Back when Ahmadinejad was in power he was a lot more popular in Iran than western media had us believed. He put a lot of measures in place that reduced poverty

Iran was almost a Westernised country in the 70's! Terrible that the CIA interfered there..

It was actually. Libyans had a decent standard of living compared to all of its neighbours. My dad worked in Tripoli for about 15 years and i visited on a few ocassions. It was no paradise but education and health care were free including going overseas for it if required and all essential needs were heavily subsidised so no one went without. He was no angel but the country has descended into turmoil since him.

Also they did a sensational shwarma.

I'd have happily moved to Beirut, as it used to be back in the day.

Mates and I took a trip to Colchester on a Friday night many years ago and agreed once the clubs closed it was like little Beirut...how times change.

As for Iran, with the gassing of young girls, the protests...the leadership are of course evil...

Plus Gadaffi was a Toffee. https://www.mirror.co.uk/opinion/football-opinion/colonel-gaddafi-everton-fan-plus-3334726.amp
On topic: War Bad.

Saddam possibly.. But not Gadaffi. His people liked him! Free school or paid to go abroad to learn. Free healthcare. Free gasoline. Free water and electricity. Free house and farmland.. It was a good place to live under Gadaffi in the end. He was murdered by the West and NATO because he threatened their grip on the world finances..
Some people in Germany loved Hitler. Some people in Cambodia loved Pol Pot. Doesn't mean they were good blokes
