Or is this just the Media narrative to tell us that Iran are the bad guys again, like they did with Gadaffi and Saddam?

My Aunt lived in Libya in the 80's when the US bombed them. She loved it their, said Gadaffi was a hero to the people. Built his country, looked after his people. Gave them hospitals, homes, health care and schools etc.. Then he and Saddam decided it was time that the Arab nations took charge of their own oil and money (African gold Dinar) once and for all, and that's where it all went downhill from.. There was no way the US/UK were going to allow that. Hence the lies to get rid of them both.

I think its fair to say that when you have a regime killing young women for showing their hair and the like and murdering people for protesting against such behaviour that maybe they might be oppresive. The regime and the people do not seem to be in line over many things but like in Russia or North Korea you speak out at your peril.

The sinsister side to Gaddafi and Saddam was most likely part of the reason their people murdered at the first opportunity.

Saddam possibly.. But not Gadaffi. His people liked him! Free school or paid to go abroad to learn. Free healthcare. Free gasoline. Free water and electricity. Free house and farmland.. It was a good place to live under Gadaffi in the end. He was murdered by the West and NATO because he threatened their grip on the world finances..

I'm not sure about that. if you were part of his circle maybe but he was rich through plundering the resources.

It was actually. Libyans had a decent standard of living compared to all of its neighbours. My dad worked in Tripoli for about 15 years and i visited on a few ocassions. It was no paradise but education and health care were free including going overseas for it if required and all essential needs were heavily subsidised so no one went without. He was no angel but the country has descended into turmoil since him.

Also they did a sensational shwarma.

Electricity and water was free. Petrol virtually free. Everyone was offered the right to own their own home. If you wanted to be a farmer you were given land, a house and castle to get started, for free.!!

He also insisted the building of the largest irrigation system ever in the world to help with cross and farming.

He went a bit Sharia law in the end, but you can't deny he didn't look after his people.

He and Saddam were never ever going to be allowed to introduce the African gold Dinar. Could you imagine them ousting the US dollar from oil!! It would have been catastrophic and tremendous at the same time! 😂😂

Well if you go down the route of ousting the dollar then it never goes well. And you're half way down one branch of the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories .

My Ms' Old Man is Iranian and I can certainly confirm this to be true in his case.

Highly intelligent man, came to England to do his MSc before the Iranian revolution and ended up staying.
In Iran it's not uncommon to see images of burning American (and Israeli) flags dotted around here and there. Tube stations, public buildings etc.
