Interesting read on Ancelotti backroom staff's approach to training

Wonder if he will bring any more coaches in. Looked like just him and Big Dunc in the trainings vid, unless his boy was out of shot... one to put out the goals and another to place the cones surely isn’t enough :D

There appears to be a slight confusion around the Fitness Coach , we are getting Francesco Muri who indeed has been with Carlo since their Real Madrid days, but it is his father Giovanni Muri who has been with him from way back , including the Chelsea days. Giovanni retired after Bayern . Francesco at about 30, won’t have had experience of fitness levels in the PL as he wasn’t around in the Chelsea days.

The study of physiology isn't focused on a league. He'll adjust as needed. Did well at Napoli

Also it isn't a case of wrong person:

Mauri is a second-generation football coach, who’s father Giovanni worked on Ancelotti’s staff for years. The younger Mauri has already worked at PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before following Ancelotti to Napoli as the club’s coordinator for all coaching staff.

A good read, in my opinion and a really logical approach to training. Parts I found interesting:

Great read. How many times have we heard pundits talk about how far someone has run and how impressed they are they ran x kms more than anyone else like he worked harder than anyone else?

Sounds like they are knowledgeable about strength and conditioning and the over training aspect, which I personally believe has been a downfall of Silva, I think the injury list speaks for itself. You get that many injuries and you have to look at your methods in training.

There’s probably not a better manager around to help us with our fitness problems. AC Milan were renowned for getting the best out of ageing players who played in to their late 30’s.

If he can implement a similar system/culture here then it would be great.

I'm.not his greatest fan. But I'd keep.him another 2yrs and see how he progresses. Need to work.on ball control and his body strength to get any better
The only thing he needs to work on is learning to tie his socks up and get his hair cut
If he cant do the basic things in life, then he simply isnt good enough for Everton

Confused by the comments saying we’ve had so many injury problems under Silva. Doesn’t seem like we’ve had any more than you’d expect any team to get. Just so happens most of ours have occurred to the same position.
