That is the operating profit, it's not net profit. That 28 million doesn't include player trading, interest or tax.

It does include the 49 million from the women's team as you highlight.

Net Income is what you would call "book profit." You're just looking further up the P&L, ignore expenses like interest and player trading, and calling it "book profit."

In all the changes, that in my opinion make the modern game so much worse, surely discussion/disagreements/ misunderstandings of what a book profit is versus a net profit must be the most soul crushing one.
