The PL will eat itself eventually. Sooner or later TV revenues will plateau and I would guess they will eventually fall. Matchday receipts will eventually suffer too, as the product becomes more plastic and predictable. By then, of course, Masters will have extracted huge sums of money and won't give a damn and won't give a toss when clubs go into liquidation. The current "forever growth" model is completely unsustainable, at least not for the number of professional clubs in each territory currently. Something akin to the European super league will come along and the dominoes will start to fall. I'm not sure I'll even be that sad any more.

Nope, bring it on. The sooner the better, then we can all go and support our local non-league/12th tier club where (hopefully) everyone doesn't fall over at the merest touch. Perhaps that's why you don't see any premier league footballers queing for the bus. The merest bit of jostling would send them sprawling a**e over tit!

The next step will be playing home games abroad, they'll start discreetly in the league cup and then deem it such a success it will have to be done a couple of times in the league and european competition too

FIFA just approved it last week as a blanket permission for all leagues.

Thanks Windy for the knowledge as i wasn't aware of that development. It's a portent for things to come unfortunately where the proper fans are increasingly marginalised for the armchair fan or daytripper fan
