Initial 10, then reduced to 6 + 2 Point Deductions

The thing that’s confusing me is the original panel in our case saying other clubs could claim damages ie sue us hence the Burnley case. And that’s directly at odds with the rules of the PL

Chelsea being fined and not deducted points now and more importantly retrospectively closes all doors to them being in the same boat. As there would be huge claims for titles and prize money adjustments.

So again we’re on the end of a very very iffy set of judgements here

The critical difference is that our judgement referred to a “sporting advantage” which implied others were disadvantaged. This is why the IC concluded that only a points deduction was the appropriate penalty.

There is no reference to sporting advantage in the Chelsea case so no cause for appeal.

Also, it is a settlement agreement overseen by the PL with no recourse for appeal whereas ours was a tribunal with appeal written in to the rules.

I just cant wrap my head around it. Im.even finding it difficult to explain, such is the ferocity of my flabber being gasted.

There is complete acceptance that Clearlake ONLY have control of Chelsea due to the Ukraine war and the sanctions placed on Abramovic. Had the war not happened, Chelsea would never have had their financial jiggery pokery unveiled, such was the level of their deception.

In the same way there is no acceptance at all that Evertons forced cutting of ties with Usmanov and respectively sponsorships from Yoti, Megafon and USM, worth approx 22-25m per annum, had a material effect on our finances, where we fell short by about 19.5m.

It is claimed that our breach of PSR allowed us to buy players that improved our squad and gave us a sporting advantage over other teams we wer battling relegation with.

It is claimed that Chelsea, whos breaches included financial irregularities directly attached to player transfer dealings, had no effect on their ability to buy players that improved their squad, and therefore had NO sporting advantage. WHAT?

There is nothing more obvious here than absolute and complete corruption. The trouble is that far too many people make their living off it to upset the apple cart.

The whole thing stinks and reinforces the reality that there is a 2 tier system of governance of English football in place.

There are so many holes in the Chelsea settlement compared to the treatment of Everton,Forest,Leicester and even EFL clubs that a half competent journalist could really blow the whole thing apart.

Unfortunately,it looks like the media are as complicit and culpable to allow this all to happen in plain sight.

The Prem is nothing but a pyramid scheme designed to keep the same teams winning year in year out. It’s not a serious sporting competition

To be fair Andy Hunter has reported how unfair it is but you're right most of the media turn a blind eye as all they focus on is the same old sides and who they'll spend millions on next

Nearly as bad as the new format 'champions' league. 6 clubs from the EPL in it is a complete joke when the title of the competition involves the word 'champions' Gladly 4 of them are out being badly exposed so let's hope PSG do the same to the RS next round

They did it because they wouldn't have been able to get those players in if they didn't do it. By doing so they literally gained a "sporting advantage". The clear and obvious response to the contrary is simply: if they didn't receive a sporting advantage then why do it in the first place?

I know.

I was merely expressing the difference in the wording of the 2 cases. Any reference to “sporting advantage” in the Chelsea case would have meant it had to be a points deduction. They tried to muddy the waters by referencing the 3rd party payments as still being within PSR parameters so no need for a points deduction.

The whole thing stinks as their self reporting mitigation led to a fine,a reduced fine and a suspended transfer ban when normal mitigating factors can only be applied once but for them it was applied 3 times.

It does stink. BUT...

It isn't the Media's fault. They report. The media rely upon sports coverage and are unlikely to risk contracts. They aren't culpable in any way. But we are.

On occasions when a journalist does do an opinion piece, they're quickly criticised by 'us' as biased and unfit.

Fault lies with...
the Premier League
(biased and contrary)

the weak clubs making up the Premier League
(not willing to rock the boat and potentially kill the bird that lays the golden eggs)

the impotent supporters of all non Big 6 Premier League teams.
(willing to accept such adjudications)

You need to accepted that we, the supporters of lesser teams, are helpless. Individually, we can do nothing.
Supporters of the so-called Big 6 teams are unlikely to criticise such pathetic penalties.

Be prepared...be very prepared... for a disappointing 'Man City 115' outcome.

So... Dont criticise others. Dont pass the buck. Don't procrastinate. What are you going to do?

Me? I'm going to sit here and rant... and rant... in vane hope that somebody, somewhere is going to do something.

Tony Cascarino earlier...

The difference between Chelsea and Everton is Chelsea admitted it before being charged.
Ok well lets just skip the admitted because they knew they were going to be charged bit for a sec.
Like walking into a police station. Morning officer. That Bank job yesterday. It was me.
Oh thats ok Sir. Since you've come in today and told us you can keep the loot. And if ok with Sir would you mind if we gave you a suspended sentence. Only if you dont mind though.

Nobody even pulled him up on it either lol.
