He is Chelsea. We all know that is a damning enough fact on his personality and judgement on its own. However, if we all lost our jobs based on a post match rant we would all be unemployed.
I'm sure my firm has plenty of Woolwich, Chav, WHU and RS fans. Enough said.

Well there are a couple issues with that. 1) Most of us wouldn't work in a high profile, well paid role that both requires us to maintain professionalism outside of the workplace. Likewise we are not in a role that frankly having a meltdown on camera would place serious questions as to whether you can continue the job.
Secondly a lot of what he was saying went beyond football banter. It went beyond the football team or even fans onto the city they were from. I have lost many matches watching Everton but never behaved in that way. If I did a know a lot of my employers would have let me go too. It would have severely damaged/strained relation with clients.

He carried it on on Twitter several hours later.
He also ran a blog with weeks worth of posts repeatedly calling people 'Scouse Scum'.
He's a bigot as well as a moron, with some clear issues he needs to address.

Pretty much the crux of it. A one-off brain-melt can be forgiven as just that, a one-off. To continue it in this manner suggests a more concerning underlying mindset.
The crux of it is, you would not trust that guy going into a meeting with a high profile client. At that point he becomes a liability.
The senior partner actually put a video on Twitter announcing he had been fired and outlining the reasons for it.

A Chelsea fan who branded Liverpool supporters “Scouse scum” has been sacked from the international law firm where he worked.
Clive O’Connell, who was a partner of Goldberg Segalla, was filmed launching a furious rant after Liverpool’s 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 31.
Asked by fan website Neek Sports about his views on manager Jose Mourinho he said: “Why do you think the Scouse scum are singing ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ when we sang to Benitez ‘we want you to stay’ when he was managing Liverpool.
“Even those nasty, horrible people know that Mourinho is the best manager in the world - they’re scared.”
Just before midnight yesterday law firm Goldberg Segalla tweeted a video message from managing partner Rick Cohen, reports the Liverpool Echo.
He said: “Clive O’Connell’s comments are entirely inconsistent with our ethos.
“His words are offensive, plain and simple."
“His conduct doesn’t rise to the standard to which we hold ourselves and for these reasons we have terminated our partnership with Mr O’Connell, effective immediately," Mr Cohen continued.
“We are extremely proud of the respectful and giving culture that we worked hard to build.”
Mr O’Connell, who was named best lawyer for insurance law in the 2014 ‘Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom’ guide, continued to direct abuse towards Liverpool FC on Twitter after the Chelsea game.
