2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

To be fair three of our best players in garner, Branthwaite and Pickford signed new contracts this season and one of our best players this season in dewsbury hall was signed last summer

So many people thought garner would go back to Man Utd for a free and he didn’t

We also attracted a player from a club who had just won the europa conference league and club world club

The only other person in the squad you would probably want to sign a new long term contract is Ndiaye but he’s still got three years left on his current deal

Everybody else I couldn’t really care about tbh
Except we signed Keane Myko and Tarks and Coleman was probably too embarassed to sign a new contract

Probably does…. Someone doesn’t turn down better money to do the same job unless they are weighing up their options
They do if accepting more money is going to commit them to their current job for an extra couple of years. I think it's perfectly believable - and in fact totally understandable - that he may have no desire to move any time soon but doesn't necessarily want to commit to staying here for his entire career with no get out clause.

Yes I think both parties positions are understandable. Everton don't want to lose a player unless they decide to let them go at a convenient time, and N'Diaye doesn't want to stay at Everton come what may, he wants to play at a higher level, either with Everton or with another team.

Could see him moving to a CL club for £40 mill I couldn’t see him moving to a CL club for £80mill.

It’s only the English clubs who could do that for him and be surprised if any of them came in for him.

Thats his and his representatives conundrum.

Unless you're earning 45k a week, are being offered 65k a week to do the same job, but believe you're worth 100k

Both are fair points but at 26 he is prob at his peak time to earn that move.
If he signs an extensions he will likely see out his time here. If he sees out his contract he has missed the key window.
We prob get peak money for him at 26.

Just get it done quickly

I'm sure we can spread is missed shots, step-overs and stupid dives out between the team....
What?

Dumbest take ever.

Dives? He doesn't dive.

2nd best dribbler in the league by Stats, arguably the best by eye.

People turning on our best players is insane, I understand the frustration at the weak finish to the season, but people need to give their head a wobble and support our players, especially the ones that actually gave us excitement this season.

I'm not saying he'd see out his contract, that's kind of the point. I can totally believe that he's currently content to stay but doesn't want to commit to staying here long term and thinks he'd rather leave his options open. Not everything is black and white, you don't have to be all in or all out, you can be relatively happy but open to the idea of moving if the right offer comes along. Your point was that he must want to leave because otherwise he'd accept the new contract, and that's simply not true.

Probably wants to work under a more ambitious Manager truth be told. Even though Moyes is generally respected, it most be frustrating playing his type of football. I know how frustrating it is watching it. You are basically second best in almost every game.

Not much to look forward to with an ambition of avoiding relegation and being happily dissatisfied.

It’s crazy how quickly people see a rumour they would like to leave and immediately hate on players

Ndiaye missed a lot of good chances in the run in but I’d argue KDH missed more and nobody is desperate to slag him off

Can’t recall ever seeing Ndiaye dive either

If I was one of our best players and I was being offered a contract I’d want to know who we’re signing first and if anyone major is leaving

If he’s expected to play with Barry and Beto all season again, players out of position playing the opposite wing and fullbacks who don’t overlap/aren’t full backs so I’m the only creative source in the team apart from KDH then I’m probably ok with my current 3 year contract

…doesn’t mean he won’t be up for staying his whole career if we show some ambition and make some exciting additions

I think for some of the attacking players, at least on paper, Moyes is possibly a more attractive Manager to play under than us fans think. Grealish has certainly alluded to it in many of his interviews; Moyes presents himself as the opposite to a systems manager, someone who wants to give his creative players license to do what they want. For the likes of Ndiyae, Grealish, or KDH, I imagine that is quite refreshing.

I'm yet to be convinced, however, that that approach works in the modern game without having elite players across the park (I.E. does it only work with an Ancelotti-type manager at a team with Real Madrid's abundance of talent?). When working on a budget and with less talented players, maybe systems and patterns of plays, coupled with speed and athleticism, get the best out of your XI.

I can imagine Ndiyae being told by Maresca, for instance, to cut out the backheels and flicks and tricks, stay in this part of the pitch, and do this or do that. You might win more, but for some players they'd rather have that freedom
