2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

By the way, isn't it telling that these Friedkins, entering their first big summer with all of their competent professionals in place, are now overseeing a window where the vibe about Everton is "they can't hold on to their players" rather than being an attractive destination?

Instead of "who are they bringing in", it's "they can't keep their best players."

Early days, but this is the narrative now and it needs changing fast.

To be fair three of our best players in garner, Branthwaite and Pickford signed new contracts this season and one of our best players this season in dewsbury hall was signed last summer

So many people thought garner would go back to Man Utd for a free and he didn’t

We also attracted a player from a club who had just won the europa conference league and club world club

The only other person in the squad you would probably want to sign a new long term contract is Ndiaye but he’s still got three years left on his current deal

Everybody else I couldn’t really care about tbh

but we are holding on to our best
players so.

If that's what we end up with then nothing has been learnt from the Moshiri years and wasting money

Why?

We'd have 2 experienced players around 30 and their 20 year old replacements already in the squad.

That seems like a plan.

Not the most exciting plan, but a plan nontheless.

Good god the window isn’t even open. Any narrative at this point is just media drummed up click bait. Relax.

I'd wave him away tomorrow for the right price.

But Moyes isn't a draw for a player like Ndiaye. His apologists are going to have to accept he is something of a limiting factor in the international transfer market.
Not appologist but that nonsence.
First of all he won a European trophy. You think most footballers in Colombia or any random club across Europe are having an offer from clubs whose manages offer that.
Secondly, it will come down to money and opportunity to play at a higher level.
Unfortunately, he’s ambitions and ability are above those of the clubs capabilities. It would be the same whoever we had in… how many clubs at our level have an internationally respected manager.

Don’t blame him not signing any of the contracts we’ve offered. Doesn’t mean he’ll want to leave.
Probably does…. Someone doesn’t turn down better money to do the same job unless they are weighing up their options

If we are going to sell him I’d rather he went now then have protracted negations while paying his wages and him leave on deadline day and no one to replace him

The release clause his agents want must be seriously low as I honestly don't mind our players having release clauses. It seems to be getting fairly normal now in the PL and other clubs have used it to their advantage. I think a figure around £65m-ish is fair and is in the range of other players in similar positions who have transferred in the past few seasons like Cunha, Mbeumo and Gordon.

I can only imagine his team is trying to push for something in the £50m range which I can understand us not wanting to budge on.
