2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

What I'd say about Ndiaye, as much as I like him, is that he doesn't actually create an awful lot given the ability he has.

He's genuinely a joy to watch at times, but I do sometimes wonder if his output doesn't match his talent.

He does chip in with a few goals, so can't knock that and I'd want really good money if we sold him, but he isn't massively quick and I don't think he really consistently has the end product of a top, top player.

Its another case of us not having overlapping fullbacks causing us problems.

Both him and grealish need overlapping fullbacks to pull defenders away from them to create space.

As things stand both ndiaye and grealish (tbh any winger we play) are instantly doubled up on and it make it incredibly difficult for them to play their game.

He has had to play without full backs, without a proper functioning striker, and in a team with no creativity.

Yet he still produces goals(was our top scorer the year before), progression, dribbling and work rate. Imagine him in a side with players who overlaps and actual can pass. His numbers would fly up.

Probably the only good (exciting) attacker iv seen in years, would be gutted if he went but I also don’t blame him for not signing a contract with the current state of play.

Obviously if we can get the desired fee, sell, reinvest.

Real shame because I love watching him play when he's on form.

Need to take a leaf out of Bournemouth's book and wave them off as soon as possible.

None of this 'he's got 3 year on his deal' his performance the last few months have been an indicator of where his head is at.

It'll only get messier if we stand in his way.

Tbh i like the lad but wont be massively bothered if he leaves and we get decent money for him.

He's not a world beater is he. Hes not a rom or even a richarlison imo. He's replaceable, i mean Bournemouth bought a 19 year old kid that got two less goal involvements in less then half the matches ndiaye played.

If he does go though we need to buy PACE!

Although i wouldn't really be bothered if any of the players in our team left, maybe pickford but thats about it.

Be gutted to see Ndiaye go. But if we had Grealish on the left and Bowen on the right, with money left over, I could understand it a bit.

George and Dibling as back ups/hopefully actually getting played.

Even though I’d understand it, don’t think we have had anyone like Ndiaye for a very long time who can get people off their feet when it looks like there is nothing on whatsoever.
Anytime you can make an already old team noticeably older you have to do it

What's he on? Did somebody say 45k a week or am I dreaming? Do we want a happy player or not? Given we have him for three more years anyway, I'd give him a pay rise if he is due one, but don't go mad. He didn't set the world alight last season and we are already far too fond of rewarding mediocrity. He's not in a strong position to leave us on terms that don't suit us. At the same time, if we are underpaying him (that is, what he can reasonably expect to command on the market), then we need to narrow that gap. But not completely. Let him earn that next season.
