2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

What I'd say about Ndiaye, as much as I like him, is that he doesn't actually create an awful lot given the ability he has.

He's genuinely a joy to watch at times, but I do sometimes wonder if his output doesn't match his talent.

He does chip in with a few goals, so can't knock that and I'd want really good money if we sold him, but he isn't massively quick and I don't think he really consistently has the end product of a top, top player.

Maybe offer him a proper deal?

I rmemeber cahill rejecting contracts too and he still ended up staying once we offered a decent contract
We shouldn't be offering him anything mad, that's the type of ridiculous decision that's got us into the mess we've been in. He's 26, he's got 3 years left on his current deal and discounting penalties he has 14 goals and assists combined in 2 seasons, there's just no reason for us to be doubling his wages. He's a very good player, he's brilliant to watch with the ball at his feet and god knows we don't have enough players who get you out of your seat like he does, but he's not so good that the club need to be held to ransom to keep him.

It’s exactly the problem. Now I don’t think we’ve created an environment for him to get better and that has to be taken into account. I don’t view him as irreplaceable though.

Ideally the manager would change first and then we could figure out the players.
