It was only when he went down for the second time that the medical team signalled for a substitution. Seemingly before that they were taking him to the far touchline rather than the tunnel, presumably readying him for a return. Unless they completely misdiagnosed it, they didn't think it warranted immediate game over, which they had done with Mangala. I suppose we'll just have to wait.

Clinging to the fact he walked off. If it was so bad he shouldn't be walking off. Fingers crossed for him

I hope your right but I ruptured mine and it felt like a really numb dead leg ( knee)

I could walk on mine until 12 hours later when I woke up and after I went to physio I found out I had only 34% movement in my knee .

MCL is a horrible thing to damage and ACL is even worse … hoping he’s stretched his MCL and will be ok soon

Dreading its an ACL … we saw what that did to arteta …. R9 was ACL too … it’s up there with snapped legs in terms of players never being the same again

Unfortunately the buffoons do this a worrying amount

Unfortunately so did Mangala at Brighton
In fact mangala didn't even look in that much pain other than the challenge itself. It is difficult really, because for some players, like broja that needed gas and air, you think that's him for 6 months at least, yet could be fit by mid March. Ndiaye needed help though at the end walking off the pitch which is concerning.

Didn't Jags do his ACL just before the cup final. He at least came back and played to an excellent level for nearly a decade although in those times backlines didn't have delayed offsides to contend with.

Couple more in recent seasons...Iwobi stretched off at Old Trafford in the cup in real pain...he was back eight days later for the next league match.

Dwight last season at Palace went off in a right state but back in about two weeks.

Let's hope it is weeks rather than too many months.
