Open knee injury is usually cartilage or meniscus, up to six months out if so, but doubt Moyes was being that medically precise, so potentially ligaments. The most telling time for me that it was ligaments, was when he initially limped away and had to lay down because no stability. Really hope I am wrong,
I've done my ACL twice and also torn my meniscus. Cartilage/meniscus isn't a 6 month injury for a pro footballer. I think ACL is shorter than it used to be too.

What insane amount of injuries in the Premier League this season. Not just us. Tottenham and Bournemouth have both been decimated at times and Newcastle for a while. Arsenal have very few forwards fit as well.

I wonder if something is contributing to the increase… training more on 3Gs, current boot design, pitches too hard…?
The physical demand of the game is going up and up all the time. Ndiaye always plays on the edge giving absolutely everything and I guess it increases the likelihood of an injury. Beto has similarities where he keep putting his body through challenges that could result in a bad injury. I guess that in Beto's case, not having the ability of Ndiaye means that he has to compensate by playing on the edge and being super physical.

"Season over." etc.

He was allowed to walk off the pitch, so you'd hope it was precautionary?

Just devastated he'd to go off maybe(Hopefully).

A very odd decision otherwise.

Honestly reckon he’ll be out till after next season starts.

That would be ACL as September is still seven months off.

Hope it's a bit like a Broja/DCL/McNeill as all three will probably be seen before the season is out.

Didn't Mangala walk off at Brighton so premature to think it's nothing serious as he hopped off. A few above rightly pointed out he couldn't put any weight on the foot when getting up so that's going to be the issue.

Lots of players who do their ACL walk off the pitch mate

I always thought that until my daughter did hers playing for Ipswich. No swelling, no bruising, A+E virtually ruled it out, she could even run in a straight line before a second diagnosis to check why her leg was still unstable when she moved sideways in training. Horrid injury. One year since her surgery today and only just back in non contact training.
yep, ive done two, one was a big bang, the other was as you describe here

Let's just hope it's not the case as would be sad if first half of next season is a write off for him aswell.

Will also impact on the transfer plans as Iliman is a certain starter so you're not dropping 30m on someone who'll just go to the bench when he's fit. If it's bad I imagine a season loan will be used to cover him and thankfully wouldn't be Harrison this time.
