if, god forbid, jags or distin got injured

Yeah but the year before Heitinga was superb; he deserves a chance going off the recent form of our two favoured centre halves. I'd like to see him in alongside Distin - that provides the pace and power of Disty, and the coolness and slick passing of Heitinga. It could work. The problem there is obviously that there isn't much of a future there for the partnership, but if he helps us this season I'd be all for it. Still not convnced Jagielka is the right captain for us.

I know where your coming from mate but Heitinga in top form was 2 seasons ago. Its a bit like saying we should be sticking with Jelavic as 15 months ago he was on fire. It happens ( players losing form for whatever reason ) and they don't recover from it. I would put Heitinga in that category. First and foremost I like my defenders to defend and on the whole Jags and Distin do that very well. We look suspect at times from playing out the back which was always going to happen, plus we look suspect from set pieces but that's a collective thing and a little bit more communication needs to be going on at the back imo

I would defiantly give Stones a shot, would love to see how he would go if he played a few Premier League games in a row.

Alright mate, and how many hoofs into the Paddock? We won't get into a debate though.

Put your little personal vendetta to one side and open your eyes. Has Jagielka been brilliant this season - yes or no? Simple question.

You said he's been below par, which I disagreed with. I wouldn't say he's done brilliant no, but he's been very decent/good.

It's not a personal vendetta either, you just projectile diarrhea all over the forum, it's hard to ignore.

Hahahahaha, Jags was poor on Saturday, but most of the Season hes been a beast, I rate him as 1 of the best CBs in the League at the moment, the fact that somebody would rather see Heitinga there tells me everything I need to know about that persons views.

EVERYTHING

I disagree. I'd like to see Stones as Distin's replacement, and I think Martinez may see him that way too. He really rates him.

Stones has got a very bright future ahead of him but I think the day he will be on the team sheet each week will not happen till the season after next.

Stones, largely because of this image. Can you imagine anyone looking at Heitinga like this?

This is so boss.

It will be interesting to see what happens if teams continue to press us like that, are Jags and Milky going to develop a passing game at 30 and 35? Center Half is usually an easier position to cover for injuries than most on the pitch, as weve seen when Hibbert, Duffy or Niell have covered there without much fuss, so I'm not terrified of an injury to the two, weve always managed to cover injuries in defence without trouble, but with this new playing style (which I am a fan of) there might be questions asked of who suits us best in CH. Long term you'd say Stones is ideal but who knows

I thank god that Distin is so fit. Jags looked much better against Hull...but it was Hull...so we shall see!

Maybe it would depend on which one of Jags/Distin was injured? If it's Jags, the right-footed Stones comes in, whereas if it's Milky, Alcaraz can step in as a left footer?
