he always uses stones over heitinga when trying to see out a game, so it would be him. don't know who it'll be when alcatraz is back.

I was a fan of Jonny during his two in form spells, but the progressive choice is Stones or Alcaraz as you'd hopethe first has a big future and other will at least be here next season. We could really do with one of our CH's being comfortable on the ball, as good as Milky and Jags have been for the club

but if you go to the kone thread apparently that dont mean ****e

 Good point

To be fair, I think choosing between Stones and Heitinga is easier than Kone or Jelavic.

Choosing between Kone and Jelavic atm is like choosing between Death by Sharks or Death by Lions who can swim.

...I'm sure Alcaraz is next in line and will be a very able deputy from all I've been told by the staff at Wigan. SSN was reporting him and Pienaar almost fit for Saturday, so he must be on the verge. Failing that, I think the manager would have no issues putting Stones in.

I personally wouldn't be arsed at all if either/both of them got injured, as they've been below par all season so far aside from one or two standout games (Chelsea, for example). Constantly fannying around with the ball (I don't care if that's Martinez's tactics, you don't tiki taka pass it in a tight spot at the back) and being caught out of position due to lack of pace. I like them both personally, they seem like top blokes, but I wouldn't mind if Heitinga or even Stones were forced into the team; I actually think Heitinga could suit this system much better.

Passing wise your right but when it comes to defending Heitinga seemed to lose the knack of doing that last year so for me he isn't an option. I think once Alcaraz is fit we will be seeing quite a bit of him tbh

Yeah but the year before Heitinga was superb; he deserves a chance going off the recent form of our two favoured centre halves. I'd like to see him in alongside Distin - that provides the pace and power of Disty, and the coolness and slick passing of Heitinga. It could work. The problem there is obviously that there isn't much of a future there for the partnership, but if he helps us this season I'd be all for it. Still not convnced Jagielka is the right captain for us.

LOL

England man Jagielka has been Everton's best passer this season, completing 381.

LOL

Here's a list of 'top class' centre backs Jags has been better than this season:

Vidic
Jones
Smalling
Mertersacker
Vermaelen
Sakho
Collocini
Vlaar
David Luiz

I'm bored now. He's been fine. Absolutely fine.
