Which means only 5th will get a Europa League spot. Swansea City from the Leaque Cup, and 1 from the 5 teams left in the FA Cup.

I think what the Echo are saying is the rules say the FA cup runners up only get the Europa league place if the winners are in the Champions League.

By their reckoning if Chelsea win the FA cup but finish in 5th the runners up don't get the extra place, it'll go to the next league place

There mightn't be an extra place if they win the league, but according to that Mail story there's a permutation that'll see the FA cup place go to 6th instead if Chelsea win the cup but finish 5th
