They dont really mean much though.
It just means we are paying him more so he may not want to move on. If he does then his contract becomes nothing more than just an obstacle anyway. If he is rubbish at 31 then we will get rid regardless.

..the new contract was reported to be imminent a few months ago and I wondered if he’d had a change of mind. Good news if it’s all done and dusted.
The long contract makes him more expensive to buy too, if we ever choose to sell.
