I just want to ask a few questions

1. David Moyes. Might as well start with David, How do you think he will do at United?
I personally think Moyes is the best man for the job for United. Glad we didn't go for Mourinho.

I think that Moyes will fail at United. I don't think anyone would have been able to rival Ferguson's magnificent career so to counter that you needed someone with a little personality at least. The fans will get on his back very quickly due to negative football and the fact he is very boring in general.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

I'll fume if Baines leaves. He's our most important player and seems like the soundest professional footballer in the world.

I love Fellaini too but I would accept him leaving for a big fee. I also think he would do well at Man Utd but can't see him fitting in at Chelsea, City or Arsenal so unless he moves abroad it'll be Man U if he leaves.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

I think Kone will do quite well whilst not setting the world alight, Alcaraz is good back up and Robles will be our future number one. Excited to see the Barca kid but mostly I'm excited about Coleman and Barkley continuing their progression from last season.

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?

They didn't like that we best Juve and have subsequently screwed our fans out of hundreds of pounds by moving our last game a day early against Valencia instead of Milan.

Disgraceful.

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?

I think we will win the fifth place trophy and challenge for a domestic cup. Pray that we win one.

Morning people.

Thought I would bump this thread instead of creating a new one.

Been a few years since I was on here so I thought I would come back and have a quick chat pre-season with you Everton fans as you can see I do like Everton.

Just want to get your thoughts on a few things that are going on over the pre-season.

1. David Moyes. Might as well start with David, How do you think he will do at United?
I personally think Moyes is the best man for the job for United. Glad we didn't go for Mourinho.

SAF has brought a few lemons to Utd over the years but this is the biggest one of all.

Absolute myth about Moyes ability he's defensive, dour and ultimately devoid of ideas he got away with it here because kids from the 90s are men now and think EFC is all about avoiding relegation, not the case at Utd - nailed on it will end in tears.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

We're a selling club these days whoever we get the most money for will take them - no-one is irreplaceable - personally I'd tell Moyes to beat it after his contract lies and collusion with fergie last season. So sell to Chels, arse anyone but Utd.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

Del boy from Barca.

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?

No idea

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?

Play better and stop choking in big games, overall the dead hand of Moyes has been lifted but we do need radical change in much of the squad hence not concerned about sales of Baines and Felli I'm convinced given money Martinez will deliver - unlike your manager.

In a season of transition probably mid table with signs of improvement

Feel sorry for ya kid.

1. David Moyes. Might as well start with David, How do you think he will do at United?

You won't get a decent answer to this one as the usual suspects will say how awful Moyes was despite all he did for Everton.

Personally I think he'll do well given time. He is an excellent defensive coach and, anyone without an agenda, will tell you our football last year was the best we've played for decades. He'd hit a cash ceiling at Everton, however good a coach he is he'll never finish higher on the budget he had with us.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

Both would improve you.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

Meh - definition of bog standard. As others have said looking forward to Barkley, Mirallas and Coleman.

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?

Horrific defending and around 50 points on the board. But perhaps winning the league cup.

1. David Moyes. Might as well start with David, How do you think he will do at United?
I personally think Moyes is the best man for the job for United. Glad we didn't go for Mourinho.

It´s going to be a farce. Moyes is desperate to be the "new Ferguson" but it´ll never happen. He´s not equipped for it. it´s all about grinding you teeth and working harder with Moyes. There´s no innovation, no fantasy. Dour, negative and overly cautious. My predicition is Moyes will be managing Newcastle in 4 years time.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

You´ll buy Fellaini, probably on the last day of the season and leave us in a horrible situation. It´ll probably be the only "big money signing" Moyes manages to pull off.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

You don´t care, you just want to know about Moyes, Baines and Fellaini

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?

If we get a decent central midfielder and keep Baines, 50/50 we finish above you lot.

Think you might change your mind sooner rather than later! Fergie or Mourinho he ain't1

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

Will be gutted if either of them go at this stage. Cannot see Baines going at all, but Fellaini is still a possibility, just hope it isn't one of those last minute of deadline day deals, if he's going get it done sooner rather than later and move on!

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

Unlike some of the doom merchants on here, (at the moment!) I think we are starting the season with a stronger squad than we finished last season with. Alcaraz and Kone will, I think, prove to be good additions to the squad. Robles is a realistic challenger for the no'1 spot over the next couple of years. I think we should just enjoy Deulofeu whilst he's here, one thing is certain he wouldn't be here of Moyesie was still in charge!

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?

Football fans treated badly - whats new!

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?

Challenge for the top 6 again. Good run in either or both of the cups and actually believe we can go on and win something! To see the likes of Deulofeu, Barkley and Stones given the opportunity to play without fear! Finally to go to the likes of OT, Chelski and across Stanley Park with some positivity in the press beforehand and in the way the team sets up and give it a go!!

I personally think Moyes is the best man for the job for United. Glad we didn't go for Mourinho.

I think Utd will retain their top 2/3 status but I don't think he'll achieve anything particularly special and I think he'll struggle to attract the calibre of player that Ferguson could. I'm more concerned with how we do than you to be fair though.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

If we had to lose one then I'd rather you took Fellaini, that said I don't think you'll sign either, although I still think Fellaini will leave.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

The lad from Barca, I've seen next to nothing of him but those that have suggest he'll be an exciting player to watch and the very very brief glimpse of him against Madrid suggests they might be right.

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?

I am a bad fan and have literally no idea what's happened

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?

It'd be nice to retain a top 6 place and see if we can push on higher, other teams have made some decent signings and I can see it being a pretty open league and hopefully we'll benefit and sneak a top 4, can't see that though. A trophy would be nice as well and hopefully we'll have a real go at the FA Cup.

There you go

Answer to Question One
I think Moyes will be fine after a season or two. The United board and fans will need to be patient though. He's not inheriting the 98/99 team or anything

Answer to Question Two
I'm sure at least one of them is off. I think Fellaini to Arsenal myself. I would be okay with that so long as we kept Baines. I don't think United will pay the premium required to get us to sell Baines

Answer to Question Three
None of the signings have pleased me that much really. I'm more interested in us promoting from within really and giving players like Duffy and Barkley a chance

Answer to Question Four
Not sure about that one I'm afraid

Answer to Question Five
I think we'll get to latter stages of one of the cups, but probably not win it. We'll probs finish between 10th and 6th
It's going to take time for everything to gel

Big mistake I think. Good manager here till his mind was elsewhere but think its completely lazy to say he is a Fergie type. Both from same area, both similar politics apparently. All ends there. the mind games will all stop and the ability to handle players who have been bought to satisfy proper businessmen. Moyes is essentially an excellent fire-fighter so get yourself mid table and you will see the best of him.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.

Neither will go to United. Don't think they feel they owe anything to Moyes and think the board at Everton really don't want to look that bad right now.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.

Barkley and Oviedo feel more like new signings than what we did bring in. excitement wise anyway.

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?

not sure. sounds like tv is their main priority.

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?
5th to 7th and all very tight in those positions. better football for longer. few players surprising us with how well they adapt, one or two with how badly. a cup!!

is it too late to answer the ones from 3 years ago

I think Moyes will regret taking on the poisoned chalice of following Taggart. I think his defaulting to safety first will earn him the OBE (Out Before Easter) before the seasons end if Chelsea and City pull away.

2. Baines & Fellaini. Continued link to United. Reckon either of them will move away from Goodison?
I do think we will get Fellaini but not Baines. I'd love Fellaini at United as I think he is just what we are missing.
I would be gutted to lose either player to be honest. If one leaves, Rooney coming the other way would soften the blow.

3. Your new signings. Who are you looking forward to seeing most in the Everton kit?
I personally don't think Kone is good enough for you. Anichebe played really well for you last season from what I saw.
I'm looking forward to see how the young lad Delofeuleolofeleu takes to the premier league

4. Your pre-season. Heard there has been a few problems with fans in USA with tickets? What's gone on there?
Working for the Yankee Dollar - Skids

5. What are your expectations of the 13-14 season for Everton?
Hopefully maintain our position in the top 7, with a good cup run thrown in. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing a consistently pleasing brand of football, something I fear Utd may see less of.

1/ He did a good job for us, but it was about time we changed it, and I don't like change for the sake of it. Nor do I like the cloak and dagger way your club appears to have obtained his services. I think you'll get third or fourth.

2/ I agree that Moyes is probably after one of them, Baines is less easily replaced for us. I'd rather keep both though. Keep yer thieving mitts off 'em!!!!!!!

3/ Can't wait it see the Spanish kid.

4/ Don't know about any ticket problems, just apparent rule changes/errors.

5/ Win the league. We've never gone more than 20 years without a trophy, hoping Roberto can continue that.

1) Some very sour responses thus far. Personally I think it's a good appointment for you. It will maintain the status quo in respect of attitudes and will to win. I'm intrigued to see how the players respond, this may be the biggest challenge he faces. I'm grateful for all Moyes did for Everton but on reflection I'm excited by a new broom and fresh approach this year.

2) Both would be excellent signings for you. Whilst I'd hope they both remain at Goodison for the foreseeable there is every chance that a sizeable bid of £20m for either player will be accepted by our board. Felliani alongside Carrick would be a monstrous midfield and a far better fit than your other targets. Baines? Best left back in the country, simple as that.

3) All signings intriguing, I'm more interested to see how we play though. As mentioned by others, the Moyes shackles are seemingly off the younger players so we might get to see what our eternally promising prospects can do.

4) No idea on this. Seems assumptions were made in regards to schedules.

5) We have a stronger squad than that which finished 7th last season. I envisage that we'll maintain our consistency but hope that we can continue to push and chip away at millionaires' row above us. It takes more than money to build a team as we have proved.

1) Think Moyes will do well for you, eventually. Take a while for the dust of fergies departure to settle and he'll have the majority of united fans wanting his head by Xmas. But he'd be under a different kind of pressure than what he'd experienced here so you'll just have to wait and see. Last couple of seasons (especially after last years debacle as the pit - still fuming about that) he's gone downhill in my eyes because of his "defend first attack later" occasionally downright dour and sometimes suicidal (why would you take a striker off when we're chasing for a goal and the defence is holding well- I think he forgets attack can be the best form of defence- but more often than not we added an extra defender and conceded) tactics.

2) I've already kind of resigned myself to losing Fellaini at some point within the next 2 seasons, offer a good sum and somebody pretty good (rvp maybe?) and you can have him. Baines- if we do sell him it'd better be a massive massive figure and even then I'll still want Kenwright's head, IMO he's irreplaceable for us.

3) The youngsters overlooked by Moyes' regime now getting a chance will feel like new signings as most of us won't have seen much of them. Looking forward to seeing all of them but particular dellyfellywotsit (kid from barca). Think Coleman and Mirallas will do very well and hopefully Martinez's optimism will rub off on Jelavic and he'll score 15+ goals.

4) Don't know much but organisers changed the game so galaxy appear to have done better than they actually have.

5) Best case scenario? 3/4/5th and FA cup. Reality? 4/5/6th good cup run and hopefully nab the FA cup. I hope we do. Worst case scenario? 6/7th and make a mess of the cup. That said we could use the league cup (not the FA cup, I don't value the league cup as much but I'd be happy if we had a good run/won it) as a "testing new stuff out" thing to see what works if we're against decent pl opposition not Huddersfield united and the likes.

Nice to see a fan from a different club on here so... What do you think of Martinez and how do you think we'll do?
