I just want to ask a few questions

1) I can see similar traits in Moyes to Ferguson but I think they are more suited to how the game was when the Prem era began (the signing of cheap unknowns and turning them into worlders like Kanchelskis and Schmiechel). But United now operate in a gold fish bowl of franchise and shares and so need marquee signings and trophies. I am not sure Moyes can deliver this as he is a traditional man of his own principal. I can understand why he took it on but I also think he is mad as he cannot possibly emulate what SAF did. I cannot see him creating a legacy and think you will struggle this coming season.

2) I think it is telling that not one of our players has agitated for a move (well not publically like some I could mention!). I think this bodes well for Martinez as the players appear to be responding to him. I think Fellaini and Baines will give him the season and see where we are then.

3) I am more looking forward, perhaps more in hope, of seeing Stones and Barkley come in and hopefully cement first team places. You don't win nothing with kids as they say! Deulofeu could be very exciting but he isn't our player long term.
Alcaraz has always impressed me in what little I saw of Wigan, but he is far too injury prone :(

4) The thing was fixed from the start. LA v Madrid first game, with the intention of both playing on the final day. Only pre season nonsense but very unfair on fans who have gone above and beyond to organise travel and accommodation.

5) Anywhere from 3rd to 8th along with the others in that group (United included). I would love us to win a trophy again more so for the generation that haven't witnessed a triumph at Wembley

1. He'll need time to settle in at United I feel and would need to be given that time, it's just a case of if the majority of your fans and the board will be willing to give him that. Don't think he'll win anything in his first season, but at the same time won't finish any lower than 4th. You will have to get used to tighter games like one or two others have said, and be ready to have 11 men in your own box for a corner, regardless of the circumstances.

2. Don't want to say anything about either of them staying, as I fear that will jinx it. Would be devastated if we lost Baines, top, top left-back, chipped in with a few goals, boss free kicks, good penalty taker and can create chances. If he's to go, it better be for a lot of money, but I doubt it.

Would be gutted as well with Fellaini seeing as he can be virtually impossible to play againstwhen he's at his best, but at the same time, he can be stupid and give away silly fouls and things that can get him 3 game bans.

3. Out of the signings, it would be Del, his few minutes against Madrid showed that he's capable of doing a thing or two for us. The others I'm not too excited about, Kone didn't look great against Madrid (although he was fasting, so that's probably a factor), but will want to see how he does when Ramamdan isn't happening. Alcaraz seems to be here as cover and Robles I haven't seen him in action for us yet, but looked half decent for Wigan and kept Al-Habsi out when he was fit again.

More exited about the younger players we've got as they'll get more of a chance with Martinez than they would have done with Moyes, so Barkley, Oviedo etc would come into that category.

4. Tournament organisers either want to see LA finish as high as they can, or that they genuinely don't have a clue about the format of the tournament.

5. Be happy with a top 10 finish maybe top 7/8 and a cup run, preferably the FA cup, seeing as most people see the COC as a mickey mouse competition and feel it wouldn't be worth shouting about, even if it is a cup.

I second the question from Megefc about Martinez and also how do you think Moyes will do with United?

Cheers for all the responses.

With regards to Martinez taking over Moyes, I think you will see some more expansive football from your team but that will probably cost you in defence. I'm not a massive fan of Martinez but i'm not going to come onto an Everton forum and **** off your new manager when he hasn't played a game. But he was probably the best man for the job over Laudrup.

Think you probably need another defender because if either of Distin or Jags get injured then you don't have much to fall back on. Your first eleven would challenge for the Champions League places but if you get a few injuries that's when you will struggle. I'm also like most of you looking forward to watching Mirallas this year, seems to be a proper class act.

With regards to Moyes at United I will reserve judgement until the end of this season.
The way we have gone about our transfer buisness has been slightly embarrasing but if we come out with it with a marquee signing I will be happy even though it does look unlikely. I think Kagawa is the man to watch this year in the PL. Reckon he could be our best player.

Fair play.

But I require an answer to my next question, for confirmation.

Do you think Rooney is out of order and should be more loyal to United ??

Is there any loyalty in football anymore?
I think he is out of order but he doesn't need to be loyal to United if that makes sense.
He moaned that we wasn't signing any decent players and we lacked ambition.
We sign some decent players and he can't get a game so he goes in a mood again.

There was a United fan on the radio this morning (from salisbury unsurprisingly) - "Rooney needs to show respect to the club and fans who have made him the player he is".........erm, no you absolute bell whiff, that would be the coaching staff at Everton and Man U.

He wasn't even loyal to his boyhood beloved club! Was out of the door before he was even out of nappies! How anyone expected him to show any respect to Man U is beyond belief!

That said though, he is still Man U's second most valuable player behind Van Persie. He is leagues above the likes of Welbeck and Hernandez. Fergie dropped a knacker in upsetting him IMO.

Moyes is in a lose, lose situation here. If he goes to Chelsea, with the players they will have feeding him, he will get 30 goals next season.

Meh. You are boring.

How can I rip that apart ??!!

What I like, is that Rooney just doesnt buy into this 'United is the be-all and end-all' crap we get rammed down our throats.

We won't (I really hope not) sell Rooney to Chelsea. If we do then we need a serious look at ourselves as for me that will hand them the league. Rooney is a brilliant player but not for United anymore as for me he has lost his hunger of playing for us. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if he sold him abroad but I don't think anybody will come in for him other than Chelsea.

You know with Rooney though, that he will always give 100% when out on the pitch. United have committed suicide on this one IMO.
