You never presented it as opinion, you presented it as fact
It's fact for me, subjectively. Because there's no objectively factual answer to the question.
So I cannot present my opinion any other way.

Why not ? He's not going to change , nice lad like, but a leader ? Never.See, Jags is still captain, so you can't really say until his tenure is over
Sometimes you can lead by example by your performances on the pitch. A few wobbly games this season aside (as pretty much our whole team has been under performing). He has been pretty damn solid at the back for us.Why not ? He's not going to change , nice lad like, but a leader ? Never.
Agree, but he ain't a leader of men,I liked The Rat,not because we called him Silver Hands but he never stopped talking and encouraging his team mates, big,big difference mate.Sometimes you can lead by example by your performances on the pitch. Fitzy and Tubey are like kids in lower year junior school, they both love to pretent to fight with eachother to engage in some sort of contact/conversation. Hiding their true love for eachother. GOT Romeo and Juliet if you will.
On a related to the thread point of view, im sure the likes of Roy Vernon and Ball would be seen as great captains because they won trophies in succesful teams. However i will not have anyone bad mouth the Likes of Weir and Campbell, im sure it was tougher for Weir and Campbell given some of the crap they had to play with. Im sure i would find it easier playing alongside Kendall and Co instead of Grant and Branch for example.
In relation to Phil Neville i think he was limited in ability therefore didnt offer much as the team progressed under Moyes.

Neville was captain of this club during one of our longest ever trophy droughts but also when we were around the top 6 in the top flight.
In all seriousness you'd have to rate him above Peter Farrell who was mostly our captain when we were fighting off relegation, then being relegated, then a second flight team.
Not that rating captains on a list is ever remotely productive, but I dunno we played some decent football during Nev's time here and at least at first he did his part in making the team play better, I find it hard to hate him too much.
Sorry Mikey,we ain't going to agree mate, just like to say there is more to being a leader than being the first up the stairs to collect trophies. XIf he Captain's us to some success, he will automatically be above some of the others on the list though
That's why you can't say yet
It's like switching off a film half way through without seeing the ending, or leaving the restaurant after only a couple mouthfuls of steak
Regarding Neville to Spurs, we rejected the transfer fee offered, he was willing to go and would have if Redknapp offered more cash. Not a good look for him really.
I always thought he came out reasonably well over that, tbh.
Spurs put in a bid, he asked if we wanted to sell, we said no, he accepted it and never mentioned it again. I mean christ knows I would have carried him to london on my back at that point but that's a pretty mature and respectful way of dealing with it.
I mean he, like Moyes, was a mercenary. They didn't love the club and they were here purely because we were paying them more money than anyone else would.
But he didn't take the piss. He worked for his money at least and didn't try to screw us over.
anyone ?Anyone got a view on Mark Higgins ?
