it was leeds ,and it was the park end

Thanks tbf, I knew I hadn't dreamed it just got a bit mixed up!

Big Nev was and always will be described as world class.

I had the pleasure of meeting him once, he had been round the house of a woman at work (he was sha@@ing her daughter), when she was late for work I was going apeshit, next minute she arrived and told me somebody wanted to see me outside, walked out and Big Nev was sat in the car park in his Volvo Estate! What a great but very shy and modest bloke he is, will never forget the day I got to shake the hand of my hero, I was in goal at school so one day dreamed of being like Nev, the closest I have got is the belly so far!

Big Nev was crap.

I was mascot when I was 10, and I smashed at least 3 past him in warm up, the Gwladys street loved it as well....

wtf you on about binman crap,he was fondly known by everyone at the time as binman,one of my all time favourite Everton players as down to earth as the common man.I was trying to compare the eras in wich they played in.Please dont go kipper on me.

Who do you reckon we've had that's better then ? George Wood maybe ? Lawson ?

:lol::lol::lol:

I remember after Gordon West stopped playing thinking that we needed a goalie of his stature before we could become great again. We had rubbish until George Wood came along.

George is to Gordon as Tim is to Nev - good but not in the same league.

Remember that the list of Everton players who were the best in the world at their position is not very long: Dean, Wilson and......Neville Southall

* awaits derision for using the outdated word 'goalie'*
