Howard or Robles in Goal against Arsenal in FA Cup

Still shocked that people are saying we should play a weekend team in this, serious question, are any of you say Robles going to the game? because trust me if he plays a weaker side and we lose this its going to be one long drive home. Many of us were disappointed he weakened us against Fulham in the league cup but it was easy to move on because the league form was so good.
I just hope Martinez has come here to win stuff, if he has he has no option other than playing Howard, we have just come out of a decade of no chance of winning anything (as UTD found out tonight lol ) i just pray in by far his biggest test so far he starts with the squad Evertonians deserve.

Bought my ticket the other day, yeah.

It's going to be a long drive home if we lose regardless, but i can guarantee you if we do it won't be because he's played Robles.

That was Osman at fault there, if Robles is even close to being as good as Howard why didnt he start at Old Trafford? or at Stamford Bridge on Saturday? or last time we played at Arsenal?

Did Kone play in the cup final? if he was fit should we play him and leave Lukaku out as well?

Just get the feeling a few are already trying to set up Robles as a scapegoat in the event we lose to Arsenal like... pretty transparent to see that in some posts tbh

I'd say we've reached the stage of the FA Cup where you play your first team goalie rather than the subs, and the strongest team you can put on...

Because of that - Howard.

Howard has played in and won an FA cup final btw and a community shield if I remember correctly, too.

I'd say Howard is better because he's a hugely experienced keeper who has been one of the top players in his position this year. Robles hasn't. He's done good job against mediocre teams this season, which I'd imagine Howard would have managed too. He is Roberto's #1 after all, even despite his mistakes, which he could have been dropped for. Robles wasn't preferred though, says a lot for me at least.

Even if there was only a 1% difference between the two of them, I'd want Howard to start. It'd be ludicrous not to in this game. It will be difficult enough as it is, we should play our best XI which currently includes Howard. It really is as simple as that imo.

Granted I haven't read the thread fully, but hasn't Joel won the FA Cup too? Like last year. The 2013 FA Cup. With Wigan and Bobby?

Robles is not good enough yet to replace Howard in such a big game. It's hard to come in just for 1 game here and there, like outfield players GK need runs of games too.

If he had a run of games before the QF, Robles would do a good job I'm sure. Without a run of games it's just a needless risk which clearly unsettles our defence.

I agree I ment IMO Howard should start. Unfortunately I think your right and bobby will go with Robles.

Arsenal rarely shoot from range, which is where Howard is the better keeper than Joel, but instead they try and work it into the box and create '1 on 1's within the 6 yard box. This is Robles greatest strength, so I can see the logic.

On this note, I don't believe that this is ever beneficial. Adrenaline will pull players through the big games, and one game will not have a massive bearing on the fitness in the end. Play a strong team, but take off Mirallas, Lukaku and maybe McCarthy after 60 minutes. However, even if it is a strong team, I'd still give McGeady, Deulofeu and both Osman and Barkley game time.

I reckon under Bobby our number two goalie will start on the cups always, so just get used to it.

Theres reasons for and against. I like that we use Robles, in comparison with the lack of use of Mucha.

The fuming over Robles being picked against Arsenal is already annoying me before it even begins.
