May as well be a different world tbh ! Great days though and I hate the fact my lad will never see them !
I think my lad still thinks we won the cup the other year when we beat united in the semi and we went together.
Roberto will 'fluke' another trophy this season mate. Howard Kendall's blue and white army sang loud and proud at Wembley again.

Was at all of them. 85 stung the most personally. I know others disagree.

I know what you mean, but '86 ffs. Could have made up for '85, got ourselves a trophy that season, and deprived THEM of the double all in one foul swoop. Still kills me to this day, especially as we were cruising at H/T.

The images of Dalglish celebrating his goal away at Chelsea ( in front of a load of parked cars etc.. Scruffy new money no marks ) which won the title is what I remember from 86.
Expecting Lineker to score abar 4 every game was just standard.

I missed 85.I got 4 tickets for the charity shield that year but only 2 of us went, when we went to the 86 final I paid £25 for a ticket and one of my mates got in with an un-used charity shield ticket. He bought a green felt-tipped pen and changed the colour of the border on the ticket, he never gave me a penny for it !.

Everton, that.

Just noticed that the Everton show, on Bay TV, has interviews with : Joe Royle, Franny Jeffers, Jimmy Martin, David Unsworth amongst others, in a tribute to Howard. On at 11.00p.m. but think it's repeated tomorrow.

...at the time '85 didn't hurt so much. We took the long route from Rotterdam and went straight to Wembley, perhaps it was because of the euphoria of having the trophies in the bag. Looking back, however, it was a missed opportunity, we were superior to United and I'm sure a draw would've been enough to see us win the replay.
