He had his work permit sorted yet? Also, isnt he part owned by some 3rd party or something? All a bit strange.
I think they took a risk with him.

He was one of their best players last season. Let's not get completely one eyed.Well, he wasn't going to be a starter at Madrid hence they shipped him out.

Shaw, Herrera, Rojo, Di Maria, Blind and Jones are all perfectly good footballers. So I disagree.

But what sort of car would he be?Yeah, one of the main reasons they won the CL. Genuinely superb player so you can see why Man U fans are excited about him.
On paper they look very good, but on the pitch not so much.
But what sort of car would he be?
Good answer.A Vauxhall Tigra but with a cracking Bose car stereo mate

But not where you needed them. You have no real ballwinner or destroyer in midfield, and you lack real quality in the CB area. You're fine for left back, but you lack a true RWB if Van Gaal persists with his 3 at the back and two flying wingbacks.
Of Carrick, Fellaini, Cleverly, DiMaria, Herrera only really Fellaini can perform the destroyer/ball winner role and with the way OT has scapegoated him for some performances last season, I can't see that happening.
We lack sharpness at the back and have conceded silly goals, but of the goals we've conceded maybe two or three have come from being taken apart. Both Leicester goals came from pieces of misfortune (Distin clearing against someone and the rebound falling directly to their player), likewise the second was a ricochet.
In the Arsenal game tired legs in the defence were sliced through.
The Chelsea game was a mixture of calamitous defending, unfortunate deflections x2, poor refereeing, and chasing a game.
But that doesn't fit your narrative does it.
your reign of terror is overIf you read all of my posts in here, you'll notice that I AGREE that we still need better defenders and TIME. I agree with that. I disagree regarding the midfield though, we've addressed that with 3 very good additions in Di Maria, Herrera and Blind. Could we have done with another holding midfielder or box-to-box CM? Definitely. But beggars can't be choosers.
But the way some have reacted to our signings is laughable. Any supporter of any club in world football would be absolutely made up with the signings of Di Maria and Falcao. I am still on cloud 9 with it all.
As for Everton, I am discussing my feelings on you in the relevant threads. I think you are also desperate for new defenders and I don't rate Martinez as someone who can address the defensive frailties of a team well. This is why I think he'll be the perfect fit as Barcelona manager in a year or two - his teams are well known for keeping the ball and playing easy-on-the-eye tiki taka but have also always been suspect at the back.
This wouldn't matter at Barcelona because they've always been suspect at the back throughout history and usually have 80% possession stats anyway. But this isn't a luxury Everton can afford because you won't be able to bring in players of Iniesta and Messi's ilk and the Premier League is punishing if you can't defend properly, as L'pool found out last season. I am shocked Martinez didn't bring in 2 central defenders in the window and shipped out one of Jagielka or Distin. Exactly the same problem as us really except we did address it with one purchase of Rojo at CB, plus we now have far better striking options.
I can't wait for the game v QPR, we really mean business it seems.
Van Gaal plays with two deep lying midfielders in front of his back three to provide coverage. Not unlike us with Barry and Macca when Seamus and Baines push up. Needs to have one ball winner there.I don't think they need a destroyer in the middle. I think a guy like Carrick would be good there with three players behind him. I don't think they'll be using Fellaini in that role at all.
I think they are missing that one central defender, and could also probably use some depth there as well. But talent-wise, I don't think it's dire at ManU.
