I get the sentiment. Bit distasteful tho tbh.

What is it with Sugar and tweets.

Tweets[edit]
In January 2012, on the second day of the trial of Lord Taylor of Warwick for false accounting, Sugar was ordered by Mr Justice Saunders, sitting in the Crown Court at Southwark, to remove a tweet which the court ruled could prejudice the trial. He was also referred to Her Majesty's Attorney General in relation to a possible contempt of court. However, no action was taken against him.[83]

On 6 October 2013, Sugar was investigated by police after a complaint was made that one of his tweets was racist. The message contained a photo of a child apparently of Chinese origin crying, along with the caption, "The kid in the middle is upset because he was told off for leaving the production line of the iPhone 5." The police took no action against him.[84]

On 21 June 2016 after a debate on United Kingdom European Union membership referendum, 2016, he made a tweet about Gisela Stuart, using her maiden name (Gschaider) rather than her married name, and went on to claim that as a German she shouldn't be telling British people what to do.[85]

His own immigrant forebears who came to Britain would have been horrified by Sugar and his bigotry. An utter tool.

Still, it's an ill wind that blows no good and Sugars ham fisted intervention has just lost the Corbyn haters in the LP and the right wing Jewish organisations the argument.

Thanks Alan, you spiv.

No it hasn’t Dave. It’s a moron acting like a moron. It doesn’t alter the fact that the Labour Party has a problem with anti semitism and because Corbyn is a sound bite machine and not an actual leader he can’t address it.

It is distasteful. But to have John McDonnell demanding that Lord Sugar remove it from Twitter is a bit rich for someone who ‘joked’ about lynching Esther McVey, but refuses to apologise. Parts of this current Labour Party are a disgrace and a stain upon what were once Labour principles. There is a far left intolerance showing itself, and it isn’t pretty. Corbyn is supposedly in charge and he needs to sort it or live with the results......

Yeah I agree labour have serious issues. But Sugar overstepped the mark and that makes him as bad as the people he is trying to expose.

I have nothing more to say about McDonnell other than he is a sad pathetic individual.

The tide has turned. Prominent member of the Jewish community calls Corbyn a nazi. Game over.

No wonder the likes of John Mann is in despair this morning.

The 'anti semitism in the Labour party' has been a well orchestrated campaign, ratchet up since Corbyn became leader, to silence criticism of the Israeli state forces when they take action against Palestinians. Hence their silence now over deaths in Gaza.

Fifteen people were killed and more than 750 wounded by Israeli fire as thousands of Palestinian protesters marched to Gaza’s border with Israel, the Palestinian health ministry said.

Primarily this is a stick to prod Corbyn into distancing himself from the people who made him leader...a stick wielded by Blairites who know they have no chance of forcing Corbyn out with another leadership contest.

The pro-Israeli state / Friends of Israel group in the LP also see it as a means of neutering criticism to the apartheid Netanyahu regime.

...and the BBC are helping them carry out their attack.

I am not sure there is any kind of parallel between the two - though certainly those among the Labour opposition to Corbyn who were most active this week seem to have gone quiet over this (as they did over Yemen, tbf).

After all this is the only chance the likes of Woodcock, Gapes, Umunna et al will have for at least a couple of years to spoil an election result and then claim that Corbyn is unelectable, plus I'd imagine the whole Brexit stuff has them in a conniption and of course the recent changes at the top of the party also made their positions far less secure than they had been. Perhaps some sort of activity was always going to happen, though of course given what some people have been coming out with in terms of dodginess then the party should jump at the chance to get rid.

Also, just as an aside the shootings at the demonstrations were much more justifiable than what happened earlier - when the IDF hit* two blokes who they thought were acting suspiciously near a fence, but who (it now appears) were in fact farmers, on their own farm, farming.

* and by "hit" I mean allegedly fired tank and artillery shells at them, killing one and wounding another

The labour party has an anti semitic problem less than or equal to that of the Conservative party. Any other impression is due to excessive propaganda and character assassination.
As a consequence of this particular approach the membership of momentum has increased exponentially.
The system is scared because the people are being offered something 'off-message', anyone believing any of the other stuff as anything other than theatricals needs to take a much closer look.
