Well, he has apologised for the hurt that anti semitic pockets in the Labour Party may have caused.

Not sure how that is hanging him out to dry. He said it, they reported it.
I was on about the media response in general, and not just the BBC. By apologising for it, here appears to be taking responsibility for it. Almost like what you would expect a leader to do

I'm inclined to think he voiced his support for that mural without bothering to look at what was on it, rather than voicing support for what it represented. Having said that, it's a bit weird that he's apologising for stuff in the party when the accusations seem to be tabled at him personally.

Either way, it's all a bit of something of nothing isn't it?

Oh its fluff and bubbles when all is said and done mate.

He has his convictions, and he sticks to them. Apparently.

If you prefer.
This whole thing, taken into isolation, is next to nothing. The media seem to be trying to hang corbyn on this tiny piece of string. At least that's my take on it. Sorry for jumping onto your post. I've been reading the guardian all day, and I'm just a little frustrated by it all. Crazy thing is, I'm not exactly what you'd call a corbyn supporter or a labour voter. I just fail to see what is so wrong here. That Facebook post was 6 years ago

Not sure it's the media going after him specifically as going after anything that generates a bit of a soap opera. It's clickbait essentially.

You’re going soft Bruce, it’s those cycling pep pills......

Talking of which, completely off subject, there were cars and motorbikes with flashing lights and signs saying ‘road race’ coming toward me today, then as the cyclists appeared in a group, some pillock in a car pulled straight out of another turning immediately in front of them and forced them all to apply brakes.......

“Jeremy Corbyn has apologised for the pain caused by anti-Semitism in 'pockets' of his party.

Mr Corbyn was criticised by several leading Labour MPs after he defended a controversial mural and his party has been gripped by accusations of anti-Semitism since he became leader.

He has now said that he is 'sincerely sorry for the pain which has been caused' by anti-Semitism which occurred in 'pockets within the Labour Party'.”

In other news.....

Adolf Hitler has apologised for the pain caused by anti-Semitism in 'pockets' of his party.

Mr Hitler was criticised by several leading politicians after he defended a controversial concentration camp and his party has been gripped by accusations of anti-Semitism since he became leader.

He has now said that he is 'sincerely sorry for the pain which has been caused' by anti-Semitism which occurred in 'pockets within the Nazi Party'.

So that’s ok then.........

One does wonder if it’s a backbencher looking for a career boost, however to turn around and say Corbyn has done nothing wrong is stretching the truth. Whether he’s looked at it or not, he’s given explicit support to a piece of artwork that shows more anti Semitic sentiment than your average Stormfront post.

It really is something that Labour struggles with, the grass roots of the party does seemingly have a problem with Jews. This incarnation of the Labour Party is being shown up as not quite the ‘good guys’ as they pretend to be.

They’re being lead by a Anti-Semitic, Power Hungry, Unfit to lead, Adulterous, Corrupt State Supporting, Terrorist Sympathiser. Until he’s gone British politics has a massive issue.

Labour's left must use the situation to their advantage and redouble the pressure on Corbyn and McDonald to take the gloves off and go for a truly democratic policy of deselection of sitting MPs who continually flout the Party line and manufacture challenges to the leadership via the media - such as this BS anti-semitism story.

The membership is almost completely at odds with these neo-liberal cheerleaders - yesterday's people who won't get the message that Blairism is over and democratic socialists are back in control of the LP.

Even if the next election had to be sacrificed it'd be worth it just to get a united left of centre LP fully committed to opposing the continued incursion of the market into everyday lives.

Before or after the next election: there's a reckoning coming for the Blairites and they WILL have to form themselves another centre-right party because the LP is sick to 'kin death of their treachery.

Well Corbyn said the words Dave, not the BBC

He's restated that anti-semitism is something alien to the LP, and that he wont tolerate anyone associating themselves with Labour conflating their (rightful) opposition to the racist Israeli state with abuse of someone's ethnicity or religious practice.

The BBC and the rest of the boxed off media are determined to use the non-issue to assist the neo-liberal right in the LP who still want to unseat him...after two leadership elections. That's where the bias.

As said. it wont be long before the Umunnas and Benns and Nandys and all the other centre-right failures will be fronting their own new political party and merging it with the other pathetic political force of the centre ground, the Lib-Dems. An SDP MkII is on its way as sure as eggs are eggs. Cant wait.
