How old is Yakubu?

Yak is at least 33, probably closer to 36. Could even be 38.

One things for sure, he's not 28. Just having a pair of eyes in my head tells me that much.

I've read somewhere that some African Nations including Nigeria don't start counting the age of the child until they are registered at a government centre, which some parents leave for a few years. I don't know how true that is though. There is also this:

Fascinating

Think you'll find this Yakubu is around 20-21. Which makes him 28 basically. Good goals too!

We all remember he asked for the number 22 shirt as this was his target for the season he arrived. With the imminent departure of Joey he's asked if he can have the spare number 4 shirt. Louis is going to wear Zero however......

Has anybody played this card yet?

The issue is more related to the country of his birth - nigeria, than the his specific race. At most you'd consider it prejudice towards Nigerians rather than racism.

Its a widely known problem in Nigeria, this, agents prefer to have 17 yr old goal scoring machines (who are really 21) so they look hot stuff for their age. They are then easier to place. Its a scam that takes advantage of the lack of strict birth certificates.

Doesn't happen in South Africa or as far as I'm aware other African Countries.

It happens in a lot more countries than you would expect.

In the portuguese speaking african countries this is a real problem. Specially if we're talking about players coming from Guinea-Bissau.

Sporting has a youngster, named Armindo Bangna (or Bruma), who has attracted the interest from Chelsea. It is thought that the lad is over age. He is credited to be 16.

We'll see how he does when he'll be in the first team squad.

No stranger to this yourself I see. On your profile page it says you are 34. But judging by the picture I'd say you are about 10 months.
