Just seen Ferdinands comments without seeing the whole clip. Is he involved with kick it out? Wondering how he knows kick it out didn’t get in touch with Holgate.

It’s pretty shocking though. A high profile racism incident and they haven’t got involved. Unjustifiable on their part.

He said he has asked people at the club. IIRC Ferdinand refused to wear the Kick it out t-shirt after his the way his brother's accusation of John Terry was handled by them and the FA.

In the interview Troy(forgot his last name) said that they weren't allowed to approach the players until the FA have finished investigating, not sure what kick it out can do if they are hamstrung like that and if that is the case I ask myself why they're not allowed to support players who have been abused(allegedly or not)

If found guilty would clubs be able to ban Firminio entering the stadium,much in the same way a supporter would get banned?

As Ferdinand said - if your response to a person making a complaint of discrimination is to root through and examine the internet history of that person then it says a lot about how seriously you are taking the original complaint, and it can only send a message that discourages them and anyone else from making complaints.

Should Holgate have sent them tweets? No. Is anyone here saying he was right to send them? No. Did they happen eight years ago? Yes.

I pondered the same thing after the Chewy/Evra case,surely the same rules should apply to anybody found guilty,at least in 2018 its no longer acceptable though,when you look back at the 70s/80s there has been massive progress

It doesnt make Ferdinand's comments about Holgate and the silence on the his accusation of racisim any less relevant.

Kickitout should treat Holgates' tweets the same as any other footballer who tweeted such at 16. I doubt he would use the same terms now as he did as a 16 year old. I know I dont.

The two claims shoud be treated mutually exclusively - they have nothing to do with one another or be used to diminish a charge of racism.

It was RS fans who trawled through Holgates Twitter history though not the FA or Kick it Out.

To be honest though once the allegations are out there does it really matter how it came about.
As for Holgate of course his age should be a mitigating factor but we should also take into account that there will almost certainly be gay or lesbian footballers at Everton and we shouldn't be picking and choosing what forms of discrimination we choose to oppose.

Getting back to Ferdinand he was quite happy to like a Twitter post labelling Ashley Cole a choc ice.

As for kick it out surely they shouldn't be getting involved until the facts are established.

I have got friends who are fellow blues who have already decided that Firmino is guilty and RS friends who are certain Firmino is innocent.

Surely something as important as racism should be above tribalism. Likewise if it was a RS player who had made homophobic tweets I guarantee the likes of Davek wouldn't be looking to excuse it because of his age.

Some things are more important than football rivalries.
