just a point here to see what others think. This is our pairing on the right wing. Our pairing on the left seems to be working pretty well so what about the right.

Does anyone think the right is really working for us or are there doubts about how effective these two are on the right working together..

They're solid, if unadventurous and a bit stale going forward.

Baines & Pienaar are faster, more skilful, exciting, adventurous, unpredictable (in a good way) and have 'clicked' as a pairing surprisingly quickly...

If we could get the same out of Hibbert & Osman, we'd be laughing.

Don't think it's an ideal pairing tbh, but I didnt realise Oz played on the right that often (but my memory is shocking since the incident with the grapefruit and the whiskey).

Anichebe seems to have been stuck out there recently.

Goosey looks a good prospect but clearly isn't ready.

Tets will no doubt be back out there when we have more than 11 fit players. Which is a shame really as he is so ace in the middle.

Hibbert is a fantastic tackler, and has improved over teh past few games, and im happy for him to play - however i think Neville is teh better right back.

Osman - well he's weak, gives a 100% yes, but loses the ball alot, and doesnt get the best passes in. Would be good to have him on the bench though!

Personally, i prefer Neville at right back, with him pairing up with another person - Gosling maybe. Neville can pass better, gets forward better and has a great cross.

As much as i like Ossie and think he does a decent job, hes NOT a right winger, he always gives 100% and never stops trying, but hes lightweight, i suppose Pienaar is also, but Stevie had a lot more pace and a hell of a lit more skill.

Doing a decent job, but i would love to see us buy a right winger at some point before i die. I think its the 1 postion in the team we dont have anybody who can play there, i know Mikel COULD, but hes clearly better in the middle.

I like Osman... I think he's a symbol of Moyes' Everton.

Lightweight, yes. But also tenacious and can score vital goals. You don't give much for him, when you look at him, but he delievers the goods and gets the job done.

One of my favourites, for sure.

I agree, but if we are going to advance we need a better player in his postion, there are a few postions i feel we are lacking. Mainly all down the right side. I think Hibbert is decent and also Osman and they have both done us proud, but they are both fairly limited.

Dont get me wrong, i love them both, just ideally i would prefer to see better players in those postions.

I agree when you guys say that he's not a winger. But as long as he can defend his flank and is allowed to roam, instead of asking him to take on opponents, he can be the man to play that right wing... The way he moves off the ball and the goals he gets, he needs a team who understand him.... Arteta in a middle of three pulling the strings and Osman running between opponents defence... man he's the right lad.

Hibbert has done really well recently :o Osman has not played at all well.
I'd much rather see Gosling get a few games ahead of him in that position, at least for a game or 2.

Post of the day

From what I've seen, I like Hibbert on the ball. Like an earlier poster said, good tackler. Home-grown kid, too. Gotta bleed blue blood, that one. My question is, what happens to a guy like TH when the strikers are healthy again (probably next season) and Phil Neville gets moved back to right back because Cahill can rejoin the midfield corps?

That's assuming the midfield eventually ends up being: Ossie or Pienaar with Fellaini, Arteta and Cahill.

Also, isn't Lars Jacobsen a right back, too? That spot on the field could get crowded quickly.

Basically, I like Tony, and would hate to see him slide to the bench.

Osman is a good player.

Hibbert is ******* awful and if we want to progress, we need to get rid.

Has to be said if we need compition anywere its along the right side, not that i dont like Hibbo or Ossie, but at times and in some games they can be less effective. Im not saying get rid but someother options for that side of the pitch would be nice. Maybe a more convential winger and who knows Lars if/when he ever gets an opportunity may be another Gem.

That said Neville can do the job well at right full.

It comes down to expectations in my mind. If we want to be a team that will hover between 6th and 10th then Hibbert and Osman are good enough. They are steady premiership players.

I have been thinking for a couple of years now that they are not of sufficient quality if we want to progress. When we have been playing 4-4-2 formations over the period they have been, in my opinion, the weak link.

They would definatley bolster the subs bench! There is no doubting their 100% commitment and energy for the good of the team.

I believe we signed Lars because DM realised that we needed a better player there. Anybody else notice that Phil rarely slices the ball out of play now he's in the middle again??!! I would keep him in the middle. He is the closest thing we have to Lee Carsley.

Back to Ossie and TH, I would hate to see them at another club. However, they are positions we need to strengthen if we are serious about progressing.

It's very nice to be here, sorry it took me so long to registar! :)
