I remain perplexed by the negativity here.
No-one is being forced to mourn. People are not being summoned to queue. There is no law demanding that we all lay flowers at Buckingham Palace.
People are choosing to pay their respects, of their own free will. Other people are choosing not to - again of their own free will. All that is being asked is for basic public decency to be observed - don't line the cortege route with expletive-laden signs, or bellow verbal abuse during an otherwise quiet and sombre public assembly. You don't have to attend: but if you choose to, then don't behave like a weapons-grade douchebag when you arrive.
Is there are correlation between people who identify as anti-monarchists and people who label voluntary public displays of respect (however odd they may seem) as hysteria?
EDIT: the marmalade sandwiches thing is a bit stupid. But that's London for you, full of people who can't draw a link between throwing food waste everywhere and the sheer volume of rats.
So, if people are annoyed by the mourning which is being forced fed down our throats, they should look the other way? However, you are annoyed by the reactions in here so you’ve moaned about them, rather than take your own advice? Boss that.
